ABOUT ME

We are a couple, I (Owen) am from Ireland and my wife Alenka is from Austria. Currently we are taking a career break and we are travelling around India and Nepal. I am a Structural Engineer by profession and Alenka has just completed her Law degree in Vienna. I have lived in many different countries already such as New Zealand and Scotland, but for the last 3 Years we have been living together in Vienna, Austria.
We are easy going and adventure loving, up for meeting people from all walks of life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We would like to get some more integrated experiences from the places we visit, rather than feeling like fish in a tourist bowl looking unconnectedly at the cities we are in. When we return to europe we are looking forward to open our doors to like minded travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

On my many travels I have so far stayed with family (big Irish family spread around the world) and friends, staying at their places and being part of their lifes. Now I am exited to become part of the couch surfing community, because I know the differecne it makes to stay somewhere new with locals. Alenka had great couchsurfing experiences in Brazil in 2006. She was hosted in Salvador, Rio, and Paulista and had a super time with all her hosts. During her University studies, she managed to show around surfers in Vienna.

Interessen

We are both into sports, culture, literature, socialising and having a laugh. We love the outdoors and spend a lot of time hiking, climbing, camping and biking. During our travels we always enjoy staying with our friends all over the world, enjoying the local life, culture and cuisine.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

We are keen to learn how to cook some Indian delacies and to share and pass on our experiences. At home we enjoy cooking with our friends and sharing a bottle of wine.
