Overview
About Me
Hi there! My name is Özgür Topcu, and I’m a senior student majoring in International Relations. I usually live in Ankara, Turkey, where I study at Middle East Technical University.
When it comes to talking about myself, I really enjoy reading books and doing research related to my field. If the other person is interested too, I love having conversations about international politics and global affairs.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I love connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. For me, it’s more than just finding a place to stay—it’s about sharing stories, learning from others, and experiencing a city through the eyes of locals. I enjoy listening to people’s experiences, having meaningful conversations (especially about international politics if you're into that!), and creating real connections. As someone who loves exploring new places and adapting to different environments, Couchsurfing feels like the perfect fit for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling 15 countries in 2 months with my backpack
Teach, Learn, Share
I’d love to share my knowledge about international relations, Turkish politics, and the cultural background of Turkey. I can also teach a bit of Turkish if you're curious about the language or help you discover some great Turkish music and films!
In return, I’m always eager to learn about different cultures, ways of thinking, and people’s personal stories. I find a lot of value in deep conversations and meaningful exchanges. I’m also trying to improve my French, so if you speak it—even a little—I’d be happy to practice together.
I believe the best part of traveling and meeting new people is sharing small but beautiful moments, whether that’s cooking a meal together, going for a walk, or simply chatting over coffee.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good conversations, a positive attitude, and a genuine curiosity for your culture and experiences. I’d love to cook or introduce you to some Turkish snacks or music if you're interested! I’m always happy to help out around the house, and I’m a respectful guest who values the space and kindness offered to me.
I believe even small exchanges—like a deep chat or a shared walk—can turn into special memories, and I’d love to create that kind of connection.
