Overview
About Me
- I've hosted for 5 years so am experienced in the CS concept
- I own and run a consulting company of a handful of people which has me working from home a bit so please respect that
- I don't care if you're male, female or canine :) I want people I can relate to
- I'll rarely host longer than 3 nights
- I want to share experiences with couch surfers. I host to have some company. If you're staying 3 nights I'd expect 1 night we'll cook a meal together, go for a beer or do something
- I'll give you keys whilst you stay. If I can't trust people I wouldn't be hosting
- Couch surfing is not freeloading. I know you don't have much money. Being tight is fine. Being a tight ass is no good.
- I've been to over 60 countries and love to learn about other cultures. I'd appreciate a nice chat about your country and secrets not known to the everyday person
- I pride myself on being a good host and will try to give you as many hints about St Kilda and Melbourne in general. If I have time, I'll give you a walking tour of St Kilda
- I live 5 minutes from the beach and many bars and restaurants
- I offer a spare room with a very comfortable double bed
- If you don't like dogs you're in the wrong place!
- As I've done this for 5 years, I can smell a cut and paste request from a mile away! You won't have much luck with one of them
- I'm a 'glass half full' person. I love my life. I hope to meet similar people
- I offer a safe, friendly environment to stay. I think my references speak for themselves. Mutual respect is big for me.
- I believe my strengths are honestly, loyalty and a sense of humour. My perfect guest is someone who we can share a wine or beer, have a laugh, relate travel experiences and pat my dog. If that is you please request me!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to help people. And I live in such a great area I want to share that with others.

Music, Movies, and Books
Seem to be fascinated with history- in particular world leaders and wars. Subjects like JFK, Genghis Khan, Stalin, Castro, WWI and II all get a workout. I really only read non fiction.
The best book I've ever read is Kokoda by Peter Fitzsimmons. Amazing account of Australians in combat against the Japanese in WWII
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Can't say one amazing thing as life is full of amazing experiences. Perhaps the best thing was a 5 week trip to America with 90 odd other people. Made many life long friends out of that.
Pyramids, Stonehenge, WWII museums in Berlin, it's all good. I love military history for some reason. If you want to talk about it I'd love it
Teach, Learn, Share
Well I guess travel information is one thing. I've done a lot of travel in the last 7 years through visiting over 60 countries. I studied journalism at uni and considered writing a travel book..... it's firmly on the backburner right now but maybe one day!
For those sporty people I'll teach you about Aussie Rules and cricket, 2 great games not well known in Europe.
Happy to show you around Melbourne, although it's not like Europe where you have great attractions like the Eiffel tower. It's more about the lifestyle
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll give you a walk around St Kilda if time permits and hints on things to see in Melbourne. As an experienced traveller, I know every dollar is important so if I can think of any way to save a buck for you I'll do it.
My place is right in the heart of a lot of atmosphere
