About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I love to travel and am interested in hosting fellow travelers. I feel that where I reside is an interesting and fun neighborhood that people would enjoy discovering.

ABOUT ME

I am an artist and teacher. I am married and I have three children My oldest daughter is 21, my son is 17 and my youngest daughter is 12. I have traveled all over the world prior to marriage. I love traveling and continue to plan trips every chance I get.I live in an area of Brooklyn that is called Windsor Terrace I reside a half a block from Prospect Park. The subway is close and I have biked from my house to the beach and over the Brooklyn Bridge into NYC.When I read about this site I was interested in joining both to host and to possibly take advantage of meeting other travelers.

PHILOSOPHY

I would describe my philosophy on life simply to embrace each day with optamisum and try to keep a smile on your face because life is so short.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to participate initially by opening up communications with other like minded travelers and possibly hosting someone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I completed my college degree I traveled to Europe and contacted a friend of a friend that I had only spoken to over the phone, Joe lived in Shepherds Bush London and opened up his home to me and let me stay on his couch during my trip. I reciprocated and helped Joe during his visit to the States which included helping him buy a van and learn to drive it before setting out on a cross country journey.

Interests

I am interested in art, music, theater and all the cultural treats that NYC and Brooklyn have to offer. I also love sports I bike ride and swim and on occasion run in Prospect Park. I love to travel and enjoy meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I loved Pans Labarinth I tend to be drawn toward films and movies that are very visual. I liked Little Miss Sunshine and just watched Eastern Promises which was a little violent but good. I also am a big fan of the Cohen brothers films and saw No Country For Old Men excellent. I just finished reading a Wally Lamb novel I know This Much Is True about identical twins and mental illness I enjoyed it. I dont have a preference with books but again I am drawn toward the visual Coin Locker Babies was a novel I just read by Murikami I loved the story. Music I will listen to anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled prior to marriage, family and job obligations I did get to live in Siena Italy for a year and study art. I recently got to go to Tahiti Bora Bora as a tag along with my sister on a business trip and swam with sharks and fed manta rays WOW could not afford a trip like that on my own but what a beautiful spot!
