About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get more rad, meet more people and then get rad with them.... simple!

ABOUT ME

I'm a wanderer and a music fiend. Not a week passes without a new goal in life finding it's way into my head - though my attempts at new languages have failed so far haha.

I love to do climb, snowboard, kiteboard, skate and can't get enough of the rush and after glow associated with anything similar. To my Mum - It's never stupid, only calculated.

I'd love to learn Spanish but struggle with the books. Long time traveller, hoster of surfers - first time surfer myself. My travel path started 2.5 years ago with a snow season and I'm returning to Canada in September.

Writing and reading fill the remainder of my time. To me, books are a lens to the world as others see it and tools of empathy. This combined with broad experience is what life is about.

The connections I have made with people in my 2.5 years of travelling have changed me, I've grown as a person so much and don't want it to stop.

PHILOSOPHY

Money can't buy happiness. You might have more money than somebody, more items of monetary value - but the richness of a man's soul is the sum of his experience.

Greed has taken hold in the world and I feel the core eastern philosophy of compassion is where we need to be. In my moments of clarity, when life gets out of the way for those fleeting moments, I feel I truly love my life now. I'm assured this feeling only gets better as we mature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to host but I have housemates who don't. Having said that, I'm moving in September and will gladly take on some surfers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Canada we had numerous couch surfers and I loved the experience that came with meeting friends of friends and strangers. Being woken up, by me, before a huge powder day and asking if they 'like snowboarding?' (duh?) and then headnig out for the day never failed to end with some cool stories, and often great friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Electronic Dance Music has been my love since I was very young. Everything from funky house to heavy dubstep and between.

My general listening is huge! You could easily find me losing it on the dancefloor to the darkest of Tech house, dubstep, or doing some work listening to classical and even having a Muse appreciation session with my friends.

I'd die without music.

Books:

I read constantly. Whether it's about the adventures of climbers and explorers past, driving me to continue to progress myself (and hurt my body at the same time) or delving into the head of the literary geniuses that have lived, I'll get into it. I am a sucker for literature that really gets into your head and teaches you something.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing at the top of a mountain each and every time I do it.
Starting a party on a train between Bangkok and Chang Mai in Thailand.
Ankor Wat, Cambodia. One of the historical engineering greats!

Flying over the Volcanoes of Indonesia breaching the cloud line set over a bright orange sunset, it was as if they were setting the sky on fire.

So much more, all this typing is making me schleeeeppyyyy..
