ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going, open-minded person who loves cultures, learning and trying new things, learning languages and communicating with people from all walks of life. I grew up in Houston, TX and have lived there most of my life but am hoping to experience living in a new city soon. I love encountering new and different perspectives and outlooks on nearly anything. I feel I can make friends with nearly anyone and have been working on becoming more open with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to enjoy what CouchSurfing has to offer but am hoping to experience it quite a bit while traveling Europe for 2 months.

Interests

I love to read, especially about history or cultures. I love spending time with my friends and family and branching out and experiencing what life has to offer. Being able to communicate with a variety of people in different languages is something I desire and learning a culture's sense of humor is always fun - laughing makes everything better and is universally understood. I love British comedy and foreign films. I love music of all types and almost always have a song stuck in my head. I enjoy being active and working out but also love to eat good food which is almost always frustrating and a bit of a love/hate relationship.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love old movies, foreign films, movies that make you think and always up for a good laugh. I love music from classical to pop, Latin, oldies, rap and R&B, foreign, or whatever I'm in the mood for at any time. I'm always down to read a great book and used book stores are a bit of an addiction to me. I love biographies and memoirs, classics, nonfiction, short stories, and poetry. Recently I've been into American presidential biographies and Paulo Coelho books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my fondest memories was getting to visit Spain which I've always wanted to do. The culture and atmosphere there was amazing and something I'll always remember. Seeing the Alhambra at night may have been my favorite part of the trip. Getting to walk through an old, ornate palace with all its mystique was indescribable.

Another of my fondest memories was going whale watching on a boat on my way to Victoria from Vancouver. We were lucky enough to have orcas pass 20 feet from our boat and seeing a few breach the water in their natural habitat was truly amazing.
