Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A VERY FUNNY description of LAGOS :-)

.." When people rock up in Lagos they often ask me “What is there to do here?” or “Where’s best to go out at night?”.
The answer to number one is PARTY.
There aren’t really sights as such, the main ’sight’ to see is going to be a bar.
The answer to the second question is EVERYWHERE is good to go out.
It doesn’t really take long to figure out that the town is literally sprinkled with bars and each one of them is usually rocking.
And the great thing is the town is so small that the bars are literally a stone’s throw from each other so you can drunkenly stumble into each one of them.

Lagos is a small town on the Algarve in Portugal, and for some unkown reason it just turned into one of Europe’s number one party spots.
The town itself is like a black hole, a place where no-one can leave.
Sometimes I feel like I’m a character from Lost, unable to escape this fictional world where anything goes and drinking is a necessity.

People make attempts at leaving but never make it. They come here for a week and stay for 10 years.
The amount of missed buses and cancelled flights I’ve heard of is unbelievable.
It’s so easy to get drunk here that people are never in the mindset to pack their bags and go.

Top 3 Lagos lies:
I’m leaving tomorrow
No I’m really leaving tomorrow
Someone’s in my bed, can I sleep in yours?

Lagos attracts hundreds and thousands of Aussies for some reason, probably because it’s close to some good surf.
A big bottle of beer from the supermarket will set you back a euro fifty.

It’s a relaxed place, there’s no big clubs but small bars on cobbled streets with a chilled out feel.
The beaches are pretty with cliffs, caves and grottos and the weather is usually amaing in summer.
And the best thing about Lagos is that you can walk down the street and literally know everyone."...
