ABOUT ME

Energetic, enthusiastic, inquisitive. I'm happiest when I'm striding out along a mountain ridge, but almost as content with the bustle of a busy city. Getting into slightly unsettling situations is a specialty of mine (hmm just how did we end up on top of this mountain with no way of getting down... remind me again why we got in the car with this stange guy), but hey it makes for an adventure. I love to share things that excite me with others and see them appreciate it in turn - a beautiful place, an amazing fact, a good friend.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't think I have anything as pulled together as a philosophy, but I believe wholeheartedly in fighting injustice, whether that be through uncovering it through writing about it, or taking to the streets to smash it. I believe that if we strip away the profit motive, devisive states, and the ruling elite, humans are fundamentally good and can live together for the benefit of all.

Interests

Investigative journalism, going anywhere outdoors and beautiful, riding my bicycle way too fast, cooking and eating vegan food, getting my hands dirty growing veg, partying til the small hours, getting righteous on a protest.

Herman Hesse, Garcia Marques, Arundati Roy, Tom Robbins for books. Music wise... pretty diverse - jazz, classical, opera, techno, hip hop, folk, anything but psytrance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the first green shoots appear in the spring time never ceases to fill me with joy. Crocuses lifting their heads, no longer bowed by winter.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I loooove to cook. I believe I can convince even the most ardent of carnivores that vegan food can be delicious. I know a bit about gardening too. I love nature and have a reasonably extensive knowledge of it. I used to be a cycling instructor so if you're a little wobbly you know where to come. I'm happy to help people if they want to improve their English.

Learn: I'm really open to learning about pretty much anything. At the mo I want to know as much about Kurdistan and Iraq as possible. I also want to learn some Kurdish and Arabic. If you can help me out that would be great.
