About Me

22y old from Santiago, Chile. For my whole life I've been living with my family back in Chile, until January of 2016 when I jumped into an academic exchange programe that changed my life for good.

After living in Bristol, UK for 6 months I focus myself on trying to travel through the world. I've met a lot of different people and enjoyed meeting different cultures.

After getting the first 'taste' of traveling I don't want to leave it, I found myself widening 'my world', went to Asia for a month, to the highlands of Scotland and now really looking forward to travel for a month through Europe, getting to know and live new experiences in new places far from home.

My interests are diverse, I like music (specially live music concerts and gigs), books (specially regarding history and science), I like Pc's and Gaming (very geeky of myself) and a passionate follower of football all around the world, supporting my chilean team (Universidad Católica) and, of course, the national squad (which has been through their best period over 100 years, with Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, Claudio Bravo and Gary Medel... among others).

I think of myself as a social, active and flexible person, I like to have a couple beers and chill as well as going out, spending an evening reading or watching a movie but also peel off my feet after a long day of walking and knowing new places just wondering around and trying to capture the city's vibe.

I'm really looking forward to meet new people and to let them show me the 'heart' of their cities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find a hard task to capture the real and 'not necessarily touristic' attractions and atmosphere of a city. My first strategy was just to wonder around, following the hints that the cities showed me as their path, but many times I ended up in places that didn't represented the city and something that I wasn't looking for.

That's why I feel like Couchsurfing is an amazing initiative to actually getting involved with the people, the city and the real deal that I want to experience while visiting a place

Interests

As I said before, I have really diverse interests. I see myself as an adaptable guest as I would enjoy from going out, walking, riding a bike and having a beer in a local bar as well as chilling in home, sharing music and having a relaxed conversation.

Even though I don't seem like (I'm short and wide hahaha) , I love sports and moving around. The only thing I wouldn't join is going for a run, I prefer playing football, tenis, table tennis, basketball and learn sports of any kind (I even played hockey and rugby).

About knowing your city, I prefer going to places that I can enjoy by either knowing the historical importance (reading about it and understanding what represents) but also just living the moment in original landscapes and unique buildings. I like knowing new things, facts, places and most of all, people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Rock and Indie.. Bands as Imagine Dragons, Of Monsters and Men, Incubus, Metallica (when I feel in the mood), Mumford&Sons, Maroon 5, Red Hot Chili Peppers Jack Johnson and a lot more (Love Spotify as a way of hearing good music but not always catching the band).

However, when I go out I'm more into latin music (Cumbia, Reggaeton) and 'dancing music' in general. I still like sometimes the 'Mainstream Pop music' that is all around the world.

Finally, about music also, I really enjoy a good 'local gig' in a pub where the same 'frequent clients' plays their own music and everyone participates (as in Scotland's local pubs in the Highlands... lovely)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good company, laugh, drinks, music and culture. I can share experiences and hear what they want to share so I can learn and build up more and more of my own. I can share plans, sports and history.

I can share friendship :)
