About Me
Hey! So, I'm Pablo, and I'm finishing my year abroad in the US, at The University of Chicago. I am a Spanish student of Political Science and Sociology, I studied in Poitiers, France, the last couple of years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling, but unfortunately I don't always have the money for it. I think that Couchsurfing offers a good way to save a few dollars while travelling.
But, I think that Couchsurfing goes beyond money, being able to get in touch with people that know the city I'll be visiting offers me the best way in to a great journey!
I also find very interesting the economic concept behind Couchsurfing: the sharing economy is the future!
Interests
My earliest passion is football (soccer for americans), a sport that I have played since I can recall. Although I find sad the way football is being run these days with multi-million salaries and corruption cases in the highest organisations, I can't help myself enjoy watching my hometown team (Valencia C.F.) playing every weekend. But, I mainly enjoy playing with my friend, without competition, just for the sake of the game and having fun.
I am also passionate about politics and philosophy, two dimensions that I cannot manage to keep apart. I think that our political thinking becomes simpler and simpler, as problems are more and more complicated. That is why sometimes I found my self overthinking the world with my friends after a few beers... but aren's these the best conversations?
Another of my big interests are TV shows. I know it might seem a little unoriginal with all the trend going around Game of Thrones, etc. But I just love them, I'm addicted. My favorites? The Wire, Mad Men, Black Mirror, Fargo,...

Music, Movies, and Books
I'd say I am a rock person, quick guitars will do for me, although I've got kind of an indie slip in my taste. I am a huge Foals fan (yeah, I know that after the first album they were not the same...), but Bombay Bicycle Clue, Eagles of Death Metal, Good Shoes or Kakkmaddafakka also rank between my favorites. These days I'm also developing a slight taste for rap music.
I am quite ashamed to not be more of a cinema person, TV series take too much time off me... But, the Cohen brothers always make me laugh, just as much as Woody Allen (not his lasts though...): The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Play it Again, Sam or Annie Hall are some of my favorites. I also had a weird phase were I loved Guy Ritchie's movies with Jason Statham, I'm afraid it might be not over yet.
I am also a huge literature fan! The Stranger by Albert Camus was a great moment for me when I was a teenager. These days I am mostly reading Roberto Bolaños' stuff, he was a Chilean author with a weird style, but very poetic. I also love poetry, where Miguel Hernández and Charles Baudelaire are my references.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll be glad to share my travel memories, my football knowledge, my philosophical bullshit, some Spanish poetry and my limited, but surprisingly acceptable cooking skills!
