Overview
About Me
I am a nerd, just so you know :). I work as a researcher at a research lab where we study the effects of climate change in cities, focusing on how nature in the city can be beneficial for people and how different communities are unfairly affected by the impacts of climate change.
Over the last years, my desire to discover the world has grown radically, and I feel like I am at the right time to dive into the unknown as much as possible, learning from whatever comes my way in order to widen my perspectives of the world I inhabit.
I respect and feel a strong curiosity for sharing time with people of all sorts of religion, ethnicitiy and opinions, while I reject any kind of hateful / violent / disrepectful / judgemental ideas such as xenophobia or homofobia or plain closed minds.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I consider Couchsurfing to be a wonderful tool of interaction with people and potential friends. More personally, Couchsurfing´s key feature is its capacity to embrace two commonly forgotten things in our rushed society: solidarity and playfulness.
Interests
I have been playing the bass for many years, which has made me be very interested about Jazz, Funk, and Soul. Nowadays I am also trying to learn how to DJ! My house is equipped with a couple guitars and basses, so jamming is welcome and encoruaged.
As an environmental engineer, I also love digging into the wild and experiencing nature while hiking, camping and sailing (kayaking, mainly).
My main interests in the world of the environmental issues are those that relate environment with society and economics, as I consider that it is essential to remember that the environmental problems that we live in belong to a complicated matrix of interactive forces, which makes them not only environmental, but also political.

Music, Movies, and Books
Jazz and Soul in all its varieties (afro, american, modern, classic...). I also have an ear and a moment for any kind of music: some situations are to be lived while listening to electronic music, others were invented to be carried with classic rock... etc!
In any field of culture and leisure, I have a wide range of preferences, as I believe there is always a time and a place for each, from the most decadent kebab to the fanciest sushi I could afford. The same applies to movies, music, books, and all!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My studies have taken me to some awesome fieldwork experiences. I spent a week exploring a deserted island in Spain by myself, and I also spent 2 weeks working interviewing inhabitants of the amazon forest in Ecuador!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am aware of how hosting somebody might impact the host's life and routine. Because of this, I am determined to try providing the host with peace and independency if/when needed.
Nevertheless, I consider that living under somebody else's roof is a great opportunity to share this routine life in a productive way, sharing conversations, experiences, and most importantly: food recipes!
