About Me

I realize that we are born and that we die alone, but that for the most part, we´re inextricabily bound togheter. Life only gets truly enjoyable when we are able to share and relate with others, and if we can see another being like us in their eyes. I think that´s the only way to defeat the void that nature has put around us.

Apart from that reflection... I try not to be too selfish, I like taking long walks and to talk.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are many reasons:
As a host: I'm getting on couchsurfing because I like sharing with people: I've had a great time with most of my couchsurfers and I find quite a liberating experience to get to now people from diferent etnycities and cultures. Who are also usually open minded and eager for new experiences and kwnoledge, but also have a wealth of experiences and views that I'll surely enjoy to hear.

Also, I'm gratefull for being able to participate in a comunity that helps people to overcome their prejuicies and fears, and to realize the generosity and gratitude from different people around the world (some of whom are quite inspiring and eye opening).
Even though I'm not travelling myself, hosting gives me some little challenges which are usually very satisfying and rewarding to overcome, and it motivates me to discover and enjoy the place where I live even more!

Interests

I've always liked to learn new and, usually, practical, things: During the last couple of years I've come to like psicology and related stuff, and I usually read blogs and hear podcast where they recomend new books and interview the authors: I think there's a lot of missinformation about the reasons why people behave and think as they do, as well as how our own thinking affects ourselves and others, so going to the source and knowing what research says seems much better.  It's  also a field more given to interpretation that the one in which I work and more related with everyday life.

Also, I'm a lot into developing better habits and adquiring skills trough practice, usually the ones that involve lots of excercise and lets you know similar minded people: like dancing salsa and learning and practicing martial arts (I train Brazilian Jiu jitsu). They're also a good means for meeting some very amazing and encouraging people, and having fun at the same time.

At the moment I'm saving money and with a full time job. But I'm planning to start travelling long term in the not so far future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I´ve done was when I volunteered to build emergency houses and infraestructure for the victims of the 2010 Chilean earthquake and tsunami. This really helped my to connect myself with my fellow compatriots and to feel more Chilean. It also led me to know some hidden spots of my country where I would had never gone otherwise.

Teach, Learn, Share

You may help me clear some misbeliefs without even noticing, and I may do the same with you. Also, we can share each other's stories and laugh, have a beer, go dancing, to the beach or just walk around the city.
