About Me

I'm about to start a master's degree in Stockholm (Im I'm an Engineer by formation). Before covid, long ago when it was all sunshine and rainbows, I traveled around the world, all the way from my town Guadalajara, Jalisco, to the ports of Japan. This trip took me through twenty something countries in 15 months. I was fortunate to meet amazing people along the way, some through couchsurfing, and in the end decided to write a book about it.
I'm looking forward to traveling again in the Northern countries before I start to study.

One of my main qualities is my sense of humor (at least thats what my girlfriend says). I like to joke about everything in the end. However, I do value the individuality that each of us deserve.
In my life I have met many people from all around the world, which has helped me to amplify my perspectives toward different cultures and traditions. I have been able to travel around some countries and I have come to the conclusion that to really understand a country and its culture you must interact and learn from the people that actually live there. That's why I'm looking for a different type of journey, instead of traveling as a tourist, I want to get to know the places I visit from a local's perspective.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Life is a journey, but it is not only about the places you visit, it is about the people you meet and what you experience with them. That's what makes the journey worth it!
Couchsurfing represents a great opportunity to meet new people that think different (or similar) than me. Providing a space where I can learn about others' way of life and also share my own ideas and culture with them.

In the end it's not just about getting a couch where to spend the night, it is about the chance that both parties can get to learn and have some fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

Although my favorite writer is Haruki Murakami (and I have read several novels of him), he is not in my top 3 books:
- The unbearable lightness of being (Milan Kundera)
- Man's search for meaning (Viktor Frankl)
- Sapines: A brief history of human kind (Yuval Noah Harari)

I like to read different types of books, so I will probably ask what books are your favorites.

My movie taste depends in my mood. I'm not an expert, but I enjoy movies from Wes Anderson, Tarantino or Christopher Nolan.

And about music it also depends on the mood I have. For training or running Eminem works perfectly fine. I like reggaeton and electronic music for parties. And when I'm reading I enjoy jazz music (Bill Evans, Miles Davis).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have done... Well, it wasn't a big deal (seriously) but I can't think of anything else that has given me a sense of realization. Last year I went to Guatemala and climbed the Acatenango Volcano, many people does that but for me it was really cool, since I am afraid of heights.

Teach, Learn, Share

How to prepare the perfect Guacamole.
I would like to learn about anything, specially about practical skills that may be useful while traveling, or some special dish you want to share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Funny and cool sense of humor, nice stories that may be true (or not).
A true honest opinion about what is happening in Mexico (not all the over exaggerated media news you may have heard, we are not that bad).
My perspectives, about life, about the world.
Flexible to adapt to other's schedules and habits and independent enough to be by my own as well!

And finally, but not least, Mexican food!
