Overview
About Me
Born and raised in Barcelona, yet lived some periods of my life in Germany (Berlin), the UK (Leeds), Taiwan (Taipei) and Bolivia (La Paz).
After working several years as a consultant for several United Nations agencies, I quit my job to start a 1-year trip across Melanesia, Southeast Asia and Central Asia.
I experience travelling as the convergence of adventure and knowledge. Meeting local people achieves both things, as getting to know someone new while abroad is always thrilling, and learning from them feeds my curiosity of understanding better a culture, a place or a way to think. Everyone has a story to tell, and I try to learn from each person I meet.
I am really easygoing and flexible (although you will have the last word about it, hehe), so I'm fine with both deep and fun conversations, and I will enjoy the company of my host either by sharing a meal or some beers, attending a museum or going for a night out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My main goal is not a free couch (I always invite for a dinner or to some beers), but rather a cool and fun cultural exchange with locals, as well as getting to know more about the city/country I'm visiting.
(I had 4 positive reviews from a previous trip to Iran, but for some reason there were no longer there when I reactivated my account after 5 years without using CS).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) Going to China with one sister, and coming back with another one. 18 years ago my parents decided to adopt a child, and that trip to China is amongst my best memories ever.
2) In Banaue (the Philippines) I once entered a catholic church where Sunday Mass was going on. I was invited to sit down, which I politely accepted out of curiosity, as I am non-religious. After a few minutes, I was told to come up to the stage (I was the only foreigner), introduce myself and explain how did I find God and how do I follow religion in Spain. I was so embarrassed to admit being agnostic in front of everyone, that I had to improvise a full story answering those questions. I should have won an Oscar for that performance...
3) While snorkelling in a river in Mato Gross do Sul (Brazil), my heart stopped when I saw a several-meter long anaconda swimming below me...
