About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning through travelling
ABOUT ME
I live alone. I work part-time for a subtitling company and the rest of the time I work from home as a freelancer. Seeking the courage to plunge into a new, fully independent life.
I'm generally calm, quiet and easy-going. I tend to avoid stress and stressful situations.
When I'm not working I enjoy my time at home, reading, studying and "organising my life", which is one of my permanent, neverending hobbies, or simply chilling out listening to music, reading or watching something interesting on TV (which is, sadly, more and more unlikely to happen, unless it's a movie or series I rented or downloaded ;).
So far I may sound boring (and some times I guess I can be, at least to some people), but I'm also a big fan of humor, especially if it's witty. And, of course, I like to exploit my gay side, too (to a certain extent, though).
I also like partying, but I'm not much of a clubber. I prefer private parties or staying till late drinking beer, wine or long drinks with friends, laughing and listening to good music. Dancing is not really my thing, but exceptionally I can also 'shake my booty' if I'm in the right mood (rarely, especially not if you try to push me).
PHILOSOPHY
Learning from people to learn about myself
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experience, so far, has been very good. All my guests were really nice and interesting people.
Interests
Languages, travel, nature, science, computers, video games, science-fiction / fantastic literature and cinema, art, cooking, wine and food. I play the piano and would love to practise with other musicians, and maybe learn how to play other instruments (I love the sound of a cello).
I'm also a big fan of outdoors, the countryside, woods, rivers, lakes, mountains, sun and beaches, local wildlife and plants...
As for sports, I'm not really the jock type, but I like swimming, cycling and roller-skating, and I'd like to learn some yoga.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like many kinds of movies: adventure, fantasy, science-fiction, horror, thrillers, independent cinema, documentary films, some musicals, some comedies. Not really into westerns and war films.
I like almost all kinds of music, but classical is my favorite: Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Schumann, Schubert, Mendelssohn...
I also like electronic and pop, but I'm a bit lost in the new trends...
Some books I loved: The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire series, the Earthsea series, the Darksword series; other authors: Lovecraft and Poe.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the souvenirs sold at a stall by the crater of the Vesuvius: a small replica of Mussolini's bust sculpted in volcanic rock (as of August 2009). Didn't have the courage to take a picture then; now I regret how silly I was!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an eager learner. As a translator, I can get interested by almost anything.
I love learning and practising languages, and also teaching them (Spanish is my best asset). I really want to learn some Japanese, and I'm also willing to exchange knowledge and converation in English, German, French, Italian or any other new and interesting language.
Music is my pending language. I play the piano since I was a kid, but never took the classes too seriously, so I need to improve my musical skills in every aspect, especially reading and harmony.
I also love medicine, botany and natural sciences, always willing to learn.
