CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to be more creative generally - this could be in the form of writing, artworks, experiencing new activities and travelling.

ABOUT ME

I like to be open to different experiences which includes meeting new people and I enjoy sharing what I have: house,food,time,books.......tea and chat.
I have grown-up children and now have a bit more time to pursue my own interests which include art and craft projects,trips to the seaside, country walks,looking round churches and other places of architectural interest, museums and galleries....and Charity Shops.....

PHILOSOPHY

I like to think that I relate to people in a positive, open way and that I will receive the same sort of consideration in return.....I am interested in learning about different countries and customs and what motivates individuals and how we can have amazingly similar outlooks despite having been brought up in a different place with different families etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have always enjoyed sharing my living space and the idea of CouchSurfing appeals on various levels - a variety of people visiting from different countries but with similar viewpoint/mindset about travelling and interacting with new people. I have now been hosting visiting Couchsurfers for over 5 years and my experience has always been positive although the attitude of some of the more recent Couchsurfers has changed in the last couple of years.I'm not sure why but it may be to do with the site being much better known and the basic first principles not so much in evidence with the newer set of Surfers! A couple of my recent Surfers have been rather too quick to take and not give so much and I don't mean in a financial way!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Over the last 5 years I have had many Couchsurfers to stay. Nearly all positive, friendly, appreciative and interesting. I would say that in the last couple of years the attitude of a minority of the surfers has changed a bit (but it could also be the nature of the individual!) It may be that the site is now much better known and a wider scope of people are making use of the idea of Couchsurfing.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

A mixed bag...
Music...not much good at names.. but World Music, folk, some older chart hits,Reggae, Motown anything with a good dance/toe-tapping beat.
Books - some classics and a motley selection of contemporary literature.
Love the big screen for the all-enveloping sight and sound of films. I like Arthouse stuff, foreign films,general drama, some comedy....but not so keen on Westerns, War, Sci-fi, Horror.....

Setting up a very specialist business and having twins!
I have visited Vietnam and China in the last 5 years as well as many European countries - Poland, Spain, Estonia, Germany and Austria (mostly just 3/4 day breaks!) Have met up with Couchsurfers for outings / coffee.
