About Me
ABOUT ME
195, long hair and usually wear a leather jacket. Lazy, sleep late and dislike phones - think about that last one if you ever make it to my place.
...that's about it.
Oh, and my Turkish is rubbish but I do welcome every opportunity to improve it.
PHILOSOPHY
Ettiene De Grellet once said the following which inspire me, words I try hard to live by.
"I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again" [this only applies to people who aren't absolute tits - please bear this in mind before sending me requests]
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A lot of people have migrated to BW, and I do see some reason in that. However, I like humans and I do not see the reason why I should abandon this community. The community is still a whole lot larger here after all, compared to other sites (whether that's good or bad). So I'll hang on a bit longer till you've all turned to BW, WS etc.
And this part should totally not be necessary to write but numerous empty requests force me to include it:
You are requesting to stay in my home even though we don't know each other. What a great idea; an amazing opportunity to not only get to know a new person or two but also learn and share from each other while having a blast together. Unfortunately, 95 % of the requests I receive include little-to-no information about neither the sender (you) or why I am the chosen one to get the privilege of hosting you. What always tends to be included though, is how open-minded and life-loving you are, not to mention how great it would be if I could host for a couple of days, starting tomorrow.
Please. There are tonnes of hostels in this city - and they're rather cheap. If you've got no real intention of spending time with me, don't even bother sending a request.
Interests
In general, I find life interesting and I use a lot of my time figuring out the best way of getting the most out of it.
In being me, and besides my studies in biochemistry, a lot of my spare time is used on studying topics like ecology, herbal medicine, animals, nutrition etc. I'm also quite handy in astronomy.
Music is also a big part of my life, albeit silence is often of even higher value.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music colors my day. There's a melody for every feeling, which I make much use of; nothing like sweet rock music while lying in the hammock on a sunny day.
I consider myself quite large when it comes to music genres. As long as the song reflects its own personality I often happen to like it.
I happen to search for the melodies best fit for the situation - and old rock often does the trick.
Elvis, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Guns 'n' Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Alice Cooper etc. does the job, though artists like Bob Marley, Journey and Chuck Berry definitely find their way to my stereo from time to time.
Perhaps a cliché on this platform but I do like "Into The Wild". Utopia or not, the idea of ultimate freedom attracts me, even though it does not necessarily mean happiness.
"Doppler", a novel by Erlend Loe. Absolutely amazing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I find myself quite adventurous and this is going to color the rest of my days. I've done some stuff that people might find amazing. I've also done things that no-one really finds amazing but which I look back upon with the sense of gratefulness and joy.
The contrast in cultures and people from around the world is definitely something which I find notable; to see how terms like greed, compassion, logic and passion is valued among rich and poor astounds me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am as eager to share knowledge as to learn from others.
I have more-than-average-knowledge in human health, alternative medicine, biochemistry, astronomy. Besides that, I'm quite keen in general knowledge, so bring forth the quiz games.
