About Me

I am a retail software business analyst who grew up in Montreal. One of my favorite hobbies is performing improv comedy or watching stand up. I don't smoke. I clean up after myself and I respect others. I enjoy good company because it is hard to come by.

CURRENT MISSION

I met my friend Mit (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/mit-lade) in a Kelowna coffeeshop while I was in town assessing an offer. I ended up rejecting that offer. We got to talking and then he invited me on a road trip to Nelson, BC. I accepted and went on this adventure. Then he convinced me to go to Thailand with him and I bought my ticket. https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/mit-lade

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was based in Germany for my european trip. I visited Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Munich and Prague. Although these cities were exciting to discover from a tourist's perspective, I did not get a chance to appreciate the culture during that leg of my tour. I ate their food, stayed in Airbnbs, visited their museums but I didn't feel culturally engaged. The only time I felt culturally immersed was when I talked to strangers on the trains in between the cities because I got to know them on a personal level.

Couchsurfing changed that. I have met tons of characters along the way and made awesome friends on couchsurfing.

Sharing stories about who I am and what I have done. Listening to your stories and cooking meals with you.

I can't currently host any surfers but once I return to Canada, I would love to return the favour.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some of the best conversations I have had have been over a meal. They have changed my perspectives on the world and it has personalized my travels.

I intensively started using couchsurfing in Jan 2017 and so far I have really enjoyed my experiences.

Interests

-Bike touring

I like traveling on bike. I have completed two bike tours over long distances. I completed an Otesha bike tour where I biked across Ontario, Canada with a group of 17 cyclists performing a play on sustainability in front of students across the greenbelt of Ontario, Canada. I also biked across Canada.

-Nomadic Lifestyle

I like the nomadic aspect of travelling with a group of people. It gave me a sense of discipline to adapt to the group's structure for carrying out responsibilities (i.e. cooking food, setting up camp, acting) and that kept me feeling engaged.

-Comedy

I always had an affinity for watching comedy but I started performing on the stage a couple years back. I recommend Improv to anyone who is looking for a fun hobby. Chances are that there's a theatre/group in your city that will introduce you to that artform.
