About Me
Hi i’m Paige, I’m 23 years old and have lived in beautiful Cornwall, England my whole life (how lucky am I ?!). With my working holiday vsa in hand, i'm now off on my adventures around Australia.
I love being outdoors and getting creative! I’ve just graduated with a Bsc Honours Degree in Applied Zoology after studying in Newquay, Cornwall for 3 years. During my studies I not only gained knowledge of Zoology, but also of environmental sciences and current issues such as climate change, ocean acidification, coral bleaching, rising greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, overpopulation, pollution, natural resource depletion, loss of biodiversity, invasive species and many more. I am passionate about conservation and proactive solutions (I also love dogs, the more the better!). Having spent 3 years with my head in books and laptops I’m ready to get in the field and learn as much as I can about the real world. I'm ready to work hard and make new friends :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want a REAL experience of Australia, not the pre-booked/ pre-planned/ regimented and over organised package trip, but what it actually feels like to be immersed in the culture and the people and all Australia has to offer! I've had recommendations from friends that this site can provide all of that and more and I want to try for myself.
My best friend Pippa and I are heading to Brisbane on 23rd October. We have 2 weeks booked at a hostel and then we would love to meet some locals and find somewhere to stay for a few days. We are respectful, clean, tidy and fun and would happily do some cooking/ cleaning in return for a place to rest our heads :) I look forward to meeting you!

Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is so varied! Anything that makes you feel good on the inside or makes you want to get up and dance! From metal, rock, and punk to blues, jazz, balkan, gypsy , folk, swing and much more, I love it!
I've never been a big film buff, generally only watching them when i'm with other people, but my favourite recent film has to be the re-make of The BFG (:
LOVE books! Currently reading The Earth Child Series and generally i'm interested in factual story books/ educational reading rather than sci-fi/ fantasy or other fictional styles.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I passed my degree! Just as life does, it throws curves balls during the most stressful times of your life which for me was during exam week of 3rd year - not ideal. I honestly was expecting to resit my exams but when I received my transcript I couldn'tbelive I had passed! Best feeling I have ever had in my life! I can now go on to work in Zoology and conservation, hopefully helping to save and restore ecosystems and learn as much as I can!
Teach, Learn, Share
Whatever I can do to help or any skills I have that you'd like to share, just let me know!
