About Me

My friends constantly tell me that I am ridiculous, so I guess I might be a little strange. I am definitely a talker, but I am socially aware enough to know when to shut my mouth. I really hate upsetting people. I avoid confrontation at all costs. In the past I have always adapted well to new situations. I am a little apprehensive about couchsurfing , but I feel it is time to step outside my comfort zone once again. I have been saving to take a big trip for a couple years and in that time I haven't done many new things. I am so ready to learn more about the world and become a more well rounded person!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am backpacking Europe with my friend Katelyn. We will only have a few days in each city we visit. I can't think of a better way to learn about a country than connecting the people who live there. I love meeting people and I love new experiences. I also would love help deciding what is worth seeing considering Katelyn and I will only be spending a short time in each place. I have always wanted to have friends all over the world.

Interests

Traveling (Obviously)
eating ( except pork and beef)
Nature, wildlife
pets, especially dogs. I also grew up with snakes, lizards and frogs as pets.
outdoor activities
almost all sports
thrift store shopping
crafts
I definitely like to drink, dance and just party in general... but it won't be my focus while traveling. However, if it is something that my host wants to do, I gladly would if we can afford it. I believe there is a time and a place for it so I will try and determine that when I am in a particular situation.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not sure how to describe my music taste other than saying I don't really like mellow music or country. Slow music makes me a little depressed. I don't know much about the specific genres of music but I can at least say I know I like a lot of rap, reggae, reggaeton, house, techno and various types of rock... including some metal.

As for movies, I like action/adventure, comedy, thrillers and sci-fi. I definitely quote Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell movies frequently because they always seem to be relevant to my life.

Lately I have only read some young adult fiction books like the divergent series, mazerunner series and others like that. I definitely enjoy series because I power through books within a couple days.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 3 months in Kenya and Tanzania for a wildlife management program with The School for Field Studies. Every moment of the trip was amazing. Some of the highlights for me include camping in the Serengeti, home stays with local Masaai families and learning and growing as part of a group of 25 kids from all over the U.S. I could go on and on about this experience.

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, Czech Republic, Germany, Honduras, Hungary, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Tanzania
