I'm originally from a small town called Sweet, Idaho. I grew up on a ranch training horses and enjoying the great outdoors. I've been traveling since the age of fourteen and I've gotten to see so many incredible places and meet amazing people.

These days I'm working in sustainable development in East Africa. I love the people I work with and getting to explore the great rift valley one community at a time. Kenya is an extraordinary place with so many things to experience. I greatly recommend it.

When I'm not in East Africa working I'm home in Las Vegas, working in tech development in California, or visiting my folks in North Dakota. I'm always on the move somewhere. It keeps life interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have met some of my closest friends through couchsurfing. It is a wonderful platform for sharing and inspiring free spirits to follow their dreams and support one another in our quest for new experiences and epic adventures.

Interests

Nation building, demography, sociology, social engineering, media, resource economics, sustainable design, biotech, digital education, biological & cultural anthropology, genetics, artificial intelligence, microbiology, theology, world history, and ecology.

I'm interested in building the kind of world I want live in. A world where we preserve our natural resources, build sustainable systems, and invest in cultural and biological diversity.

I also love cooking, children, folk & acoustic music, poetry, dancing, deep conversations about the meaning of life and laughing so hard I cry.

My favorite musicians are Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald & Patsy Cline. I also love Cat Stevens and America.

I love watching Bob's Burgers and Rick and Morty. I'm a big fan of DC animated movies, my favorite super hero is Batman. My favorite movie is Harold & Maude. I also love Star trek, Star Gate, Star Wars... all the Stars :-) I'm a big fan of Sci-fi.

I greatly enjoy reading cultural novels. I've recently been reading all of Henry Ole Kulet's books. To Become a Man was enlightening but my favorite so far is Daughter of Maa. I love Arabian Nights, it inspired me to want to travel the middle east.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done is spend the last 6 years learning about indigenous peoples of East Africa. I've learned so much about unique cultures and rich ecosystems and I still only know a fraction of what there is to learn about this extraordinary place.
