Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore the Pacific Northwest!
ABOUT ME
Caitlynn moved to the Portland area in 2008, after traveling across the country. She loves paint, books, poetry and most any kind of music. She loves being outdoors and hiking, but she's a city girl at heart. Her recent challenge is starting bikram yoga, but she's loving it!
Tony is a citizen of the states. He's lived in almost half the states in the U.S., but almost always in cities. He's been in Portland for 10 years off and on, and he'll gladly tell you how much better California is for beaches, but he loves the people in beautiful Portland Oregon. He's pretty fantastic, and you'll get used to his sense of humor.
PHILOSOPHY
There are no answers, only paths.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Caitlynn couchsurfed her way down from New England and across the middle of the country, then back up the West Coast. She's settled now and excited to be able to return the favor.
We think that building community is integral in a society that often drives folks to isolation. Houses and vehicles get bigger, and people forget to acknowledge each other as a part of the bigger picture.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Caitlynn used couchsurfing to make her cross-country trip and loved it! She met amazing people, ate wonderful food and saw places she never would have known about if she didn't have someone to tell her.
Since settling in a lovely Southwest Portland apartment, we've been doing our best to pay it forward and we're loving every moment of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one?! We can't pick . . .
I tattooed a 68 year old woman. I saw the Catacombs under Paris, I helped organize the first New England Transgender Pride March, and I sat in the painted desert with crows.
Tony got to fly in a Lear jet to harvest human organs (it was all legal!), walk into burning buildings and work in a trauma O.R.
Teach, Learn, Share
Caitlynn knows: stained glass, vegan cookies (though our household is not vegan), some computer troubleshooting . . . and origami cranes. I'm also certified to teach English as a foreign language.
She'd love to learn more about computers and programming.
Tony knows: How to run a radio show, fight fires, do surgery and make homemade cat food.
He'd like to learn about different languages and cultures.
