ABOUT ME

Hmmm, where to start and what to say about myself?

Well, I was born and raised in a small town of 1000 people in Illinois (about 2 hours south of Chicago) to lower-middle class parents. I graduated from high school in 2005, went to college for a while majoring in Social Work and now i'm taking a small break (I promise i'm going to finish!) and moved out to Nevada in May of 2009 with my parents. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to leave my comfort zone in Illinois when I had the chance, especially because I love to travel and seeing new things excites me...but I do feel I will return to Illinois some day, that state just has my heart! =)

I'm pretty much a simple person, I don't need much to make me happy and I'm extremely laid back.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been able to participate yet, but I can't wait to host people and see how other cultures live and their enthousiasm to travel!

In about 2 years when I finish with school I hope to do traveling all over the world myself! =) Growing up my mother was (and still is) a big fan of travel, so therefore I've had great opportunities to see most of the United States. Sad thing is, my family has never been overly blessed with money so oversea's trips never happened for us.

...Which brings me to why I think this community is a fantastic idea! It allows people not only to save money and make travel more possible, but it allows someone to be a traveler...not just a tourist! =)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

兴趣

TRAVEL! I like to meet new people, try new things, I like to go out and have a few drinks but I also enjoy staying home and watching movies. I enjoy being with my friends and family.

I'll get back to you on what else! Hard to think of things I enjoy at the top of my hand because I enjoy sooo much! =)

Music:

My favorite bands of all time are Taking Back Sunday, Incubus, and the Beatles.

I also enjoy listening to top 40 music. Don't really care for country music or rap.

Movies:

Too many to name! I'm a movie nerd!!!

Favorites of all time? Pride and Prejudice, Into the Wild, The Reader, Across the Universe...and the list goes on!

Books:

Not much of a reader, but books I have actually completed AND enjoyed:

Lake Tahoe in Northern California and Nevada.
San Fransisco, California. Been there once and am looking for the right time to go back!

Teach: I can teach people about my culture, my life, my experiences. Also, I can teach you some pretty awesome drinking games. My mom can also teach you some of her amazing recipe's for cooking!

Learn: I want to learn the language German and be able to speak it fluently! I also want to learn how other cultures live.
