ABOUT ME
My wife and I welcome you to our couch surfing profile. We live in Lahore in our family house in Samanabad. We are a retired couple so we have plenty of time to meet you, show you around our city and treat you well as our guest. We are the parents of Umer Durrani, who introduced us to couch surfing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Here is some USEFUL INFORMATION for travellers coming by land from IRAN to PAKISTAN:
As you would be coming from South-West Pakistan to
North-East in order to continue to India. I recommend
you to take the following Route as my son did in 2005.
Once you are in Taftan, there is a bus that goes in
max. 650 Pakistan Rupees (10$) from Taftan
to Quetta. It takes about 17 hours!!! There are also
hired 6 seater cars that take 12 hours but they are
more expensive. You need to check the prices but make
sure no one robs or over charges you ;) Moreover, the
best place to change the Irani currency is in Taftan -
NOT in Mirjaveh (the iranian side of the border). Make
sure you do NOT make a mistake between the exchange
rate of Iranian Rial with Pakistani Rupee because
usually the exchange rate is quoted in Iranian Tumman
(10 Rial = 1 Iranian Tumman) so the clever traders try
to cheat the foreigners with one ZERO that makes a
HUGE DIFFERENCE! It is difficult to exchange iranian
currency anywhere else in Pakistan. If you do find a
trader, he might not give you a good rate that you
might find from one of the traders at the border.
