About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see, learn and experience things beyond my imagination

ABOUT ME

Half Japanese, half Chinese, Made in Canada.

Dinners are home are great, which include Sushi, Chow Mein and Steak (and a heart-burn if you combine all 3 at once).

Lived in Richmond (close to Vancouver) all my life and decided that I needed to get closer to my asian roots after having all sorts of people asking if I spoke English-Japanese-Chinese when I was pretty much monolingual.

My journey started with me getting a scholarship to Japan after graduating out of my bachelors, which was a perfect chance for me to learn Japanese and study some more in my Engineering field.

I would end up living in an international dorm with students from all around the world. My daily daily life with them was nothing short of amazing. Friends from China, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, Korea, England, France, Germany, Russia and more would go into town hang out, eat sushi, sing, dance, have great pot luck dinners (ie everyone cooks a dish and eats together) and more. I knew at that moment, that if world peace existed, it existed in the international dorm where I stayed.

Ever since then, I wanted to see more of the world to meet nice people, to see and experience things beyond my imagination, understand life around the world and then show my friends and to as many people as possible, the neat things I've learned.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to find what you love and go do it. My objectives are to find the things I really enjoy doing. To find what I love, I've decided to go and experience many things and who knows what I might find along the way.

I love teaching and helping others. I think that the challenges I will face in life will be similar in some ways to the challenges that others will face in some point. Knowledge is the one gift that I can give without losing. One day, I hope that everyone has a chance to find what they really enjoy doing in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I am looking for some couches to crash at! Let me know if you'd be interested in hosting me.

I don't have a permanent residence yet, but when I do get one, I would be more than happy to have guests coming over to stay!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience in couch surfing has been really positive. I met with a wonderful host by the name of Hui Mei whom came out to pick me up at the bus stop.

With her help, I was able to meet many wonderful people in Kuala Lumpur and got to meet up with a great diving instructor and his family in Borneo. Couch surfing is great!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Thailand - Petted Tigers, Rode and Elephant, Learned Thai Massage, singed myself while fire spinning all in one place!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook! I've attended all sorts of international cooking lessons and would be more than happy to whip up a meal at your place.

I've just got out of Thailand and made friends with a Thai masseuse (sp?) and just learned some of the basics of the Thai massage.

Currently I am into fire spinning (something called Poi). Originally a New Zealand thing with the Haka aboriginal people practicing whirling iron balls for fighting, it has recently become an art with people spinning balls of fire for fun! Still in the learning process (and don't worry, I can teach with a set of tennis balls and string!)
