Hello, My name is Ahmet and I am 31 years old. I am a chemical engineer and I live in Istanbul. Actually, even though my hometown is Eskişehir, I came to Istanbul when I was at university and could not leave again. Palaemon is generally my nickname and I use it almost everywhere. Small sea god in Greek mythology means we'll talk about the details below :)

In my university life, I participated in volunteer activities outside of classes. In addition to youth work, I volunteered in non-governmental organizations that work to protect and sustain the marine and marine ecosystem. My adventure that started in 2011 has been even more effective for me with exchange programs in Germany and Italy. I can say that camping and training on the seaside with both coastal cleaning organizations and children who have not seen the sea are among the moments that make me spiritually happy and unforgettable.

I can say that my first abroad experience was with the erasmus program in Italy, and I joined couchsurfing in 2013. As a first travel experience, besides being an absolutely wonderful country, I experienced the language barrier situation a lot. But later I adapted to the situation I was in and everything became more enjoyable for me. Then I couldn't stop myself from traveling.

My current idea is that I want to see 35 countries before I turn 35. I can say that I am now in my 25th country. I plan to continue with this year the places that I could not visit/see unfortunately due to the pandemic.

I am a person who likes to have fun, is fun and calm at the same time, loves to laugh and make you laugh, and considers it my duty to help every living thing. I have a motto that I think has an effect on my volunteering experiences in this life: "How can I help?" At the same time, I think this forms the basis of the technical service position I am currently working in.

I see myself as an Earthling and to see as many places as I can see; It's my dream to spend time with as many people as I can. I think that's enough talking about me, I hope we get the chance to meet face to face.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing seemed to me the best way to meet these needs while saving the money for what's important rather than expensive accommodation, but I must say I was only received twice on my trips... I'm a very easy-going person who can sleep about anywhere (old sofa, etc.), loves to cook and help for anything, and love chatting about any subject around a drink, esp. related to "being Human": philosophy, society, culture and politics, with mutual respect and listening...
Couchsurfing started for me in Dusseldorf, Germany. I still don't forget my host. I feel that it's a fantastic way to get to know people when traveling by yourself. I love being exposed to new cultures and ideas, and thrilled to meet new people all around the globe. Share insights, wisdom and day to day thoughts. My Favorite Music,
In general, I like music in the style of Latin Pop. I guess because I like to dance, the rhythm takes me too far. But on my Spotify list, you will see that there are all kinds of music. I wanted to say that I also have a musical taste that ranges from the music of dance scenes in Bollywood movies to LinkinPark. If I want to briefly talk about my favorite artists; Adele, Mabel Matiz, Shakira, Maluma, Sam Smith, Tiesto, Daddy Yanke, etc...

My Movies
First of all, I have to say that I am a complete Potterhead. My goal is to go to the Harry Potter museums around the world. I think that my childhood was spent with this as an example. And the Glee series, which came into my life when I discovered myself, has a special place for me. And of course, I don't think words are enough to describe Friends... Friends, which is a masterpiece. I believe I am the 7th in their 6-person friend group. Except that one; A Moment to Remember, Grey's Anatomy, Elite, Please Like Me, Sex Education, Witcher etc...

My Books
I want to divide this into two parts; before and after the age of 18; before the age of 18; I can say that I have read a lot of fantasy and science fiction books, especially Twilight and House of Night Series.

For the last few years, I have been interested in books on philosophy, psychology and personal development. During my military service in Turkey, I broke my own records by reading 35 books in 5 months.
