About Me

Québécois here. Or French Canadian. Anyway someone from that big province full of lumberjacks (not) in that big country. Spoiler: We all live by the river near the border. My city is pretty much a Christmas Village during winter, and I do miss snow and cold when I travel for a long time. Our national dish is fries, gravy and cheese curds. Add maple bacon I guess. Yeah poutine.

I love to travel. I don't like staying for too long at the same place; it kills me a little. So I am kind of trying to travel for as long as I can until I am tired. Too many projects to stop me though. There's too much to do in the world and the more you do, the more you plan on doing. It's like feeling dumber and dumber the more you learn stuff, you got to know more...
I got to admit that most of my plan implies loonng hikes and outdoor stuff. Just bought a packraft!

I like curious people who get their kick by just sharing stuff they learned or are passionate about.

I like pushing limits in topics, I can talk about any taboos with my monotone, low voice.

I am a skeptic. Logic and critical thinking are really important to me. I want truth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Great concept. Met a lot of cool people, and I am kind of depressed when I can't travel so it helps to have people with that different kind of aura, you know. It's comforting. Also makes me jealous.

Interests

One day maybe I will do that degree in philosophy/linguistics.
I really like to study languages. I like the way human communicates, subtleties, nuances..
Of course the outdoor. I want to walk all of those long trails, create some for myself and paddle beautiful alpine lakes. Also rock climbing eventually.
I play video games when I can, mostly RPGS and games with a great, immersive story.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch movies that much, but I know my classics and some international movies I like to discover.
I think Bollywood movies are either really good or hilarious (mostly the latter). I binged too many sitcoms (30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, The Office, .."), I like good, funny writing and delivery.

I listen to a lot of metal (Death, Voivod, uneXpect, Opeth, Sepultura, Slayer, Gorgoroth, Darkthrone just to name a few populars).
I also really like The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Glass Animals, Igorr, Xavier Rudd, Chet Faker, Radiohead, Bjork, Sigur Ros, Pixies, ..

I read a lot when I travel. Mostly classics or books that take place in the country I am in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trans-Siberian, best way to enter Asia for a good 10 months trip!
I walked Stewart Island and the South Island of New Zealand.
Just being in India and Nepal is pretty amazing. I love organized chaos.
Hitchhiking in Mongolia.
I hiked Scotland.
Man those Wall of Death during those metal festivals in Europe...

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a "chef" so I can earn my travel bread! I know a thing or two about that..
Other stuff.
