About Me

We are Melisa and Alejandro, 28 years old couple from Buenos Aires, Argentina, traveling as a nomads since 2015. Since May of this year we are traveling around Europe in a slow travel and looking after pets (if you want, you can also check our housesitting profile out: https://goo.gl/X6Bdy5).

We love to travel and we always do. After we decided to leave Buenos Aires and our "normal" lifes we used to use every single holiday to travel. We traveled all around Argentina and also we went to other countries in Latin America like Colombia, Peru and Uruguay. But on 2015 we got a Working Holiday Visa of New Zealand so we moved to that country for one year and that's how we started this long travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We want to travel Europe in a non-tradicional-tourist way. We don't care to much about the “must do and see” of every city and country. We want to live our own experience and share as much as we can with the locals. We believe that meeting the local people is a fundamental part to really meet the culture of every place. Also, we have a lot of friends that already traveled with Couchsurfing and they have told us that we have to try this experience.

Interests

Alejandro is an “computer guy". He loves computers and technology in general so much that people sometimes say that he is too “nerd”. He also is a musician. He loves to play guitar, drum and recording and editing songs. He studied Computer Science.

I have pasion for writing, photography, art and music. I love read, write, take photographs, paint, make crafts and be part of cultural events. I am working now in a personal blog to share all of it. I studied Social Communications (for those who don’t know what it is, the career mixes journalist with public relations, visual communications and marketing). Also, I love to sing since I was a child.

As we are both amateurs musicians, we love to sing and play together (Beatles, jazz, 50’s songs, rock-pop, indie-rock, Argentinean rock, folklore and tango).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
We are both fans of rock, indie-rock, rock-folk and rock-pop music (The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Radiohead, Foals) and some argetinian rock and rock-pop artist, like Soda Stereo, El Mató a un Policía Motorizado, Patricio Rey or Lisandro Aristimuño.

Movies:
Alejandro loves science fiction movies. I love all movies with a good story, good actors and an interesting way of tell the story. Also we watch a lot of series.

Books:
Alejandro's favourite books are science fiction books, like Isaac Asimov books. And he is a prolific internet reader.
I don't have a favourite book because I have diferents favourite books for seasons. When I was a kid my favourite books were the Harry Potter's ones. When I was a teenager I loved Eduardo Galeano, Mario Benedetti, Pablo Neruda and García Marquez. Last year my favourite book was "El Pibe que arruinaba las fotos" of Hernán Casciari and this year my favourites are some books about creativity and art that I read: “Steal Like an Artist” of Austin Kleon, “Syllabus” of Lynda Barry, and “How to be an explorer of the world” of Keri Smith. I read a lot of travel blogs too.
