About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To receive and spread positive energy !

ABOUT ME

I'm a teacher who wants to keep learning all his life long! Apart from France, I've lived in England in a cosmopolitan residence hall. This was a wonderful experience which reinforced my interest in discovering new cultures... so many countries, so little time!

PHILOSOPHY

I think that people are more important than places. I'm more interested in meeting people and getting to know them and their culture than in sight-seeing. I do like hiking and admiring nice landscapes though :-).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have hosted one traveller from Belgium, Konrad, a couple from Australia, Sam and Craig, and have surfed the couch of Manja, a Swiss lady living in Itaparica, Bahia, Brazil.

Interests

Playing guitar and cavaquinho. Capoeira and martial arts. Dancing (beginner level in salsa, forro and tango), cross-cultural experiences. .
Foreign languages in general (Greek and Brazilian Portuguese more particularly), discovering new things...

Music, Movies, and Books

-Very broad tastes in music, from Jazz to electro, particular interest in samba/pagode and tango these days.
-Sci-Fi films.
-I'm not much of a novel reader

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent a few hours with Tchavolo Schmitt, a relatively famous gypsy jazz guitarist to end up hearing him play "Nuages" on Django Reinhardt's grave. It was like a musical prayer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach guitar, English and German. I'm learning to play the cavaquinho and to practise capoeira.
