About Me
I'm a recently retired CNM, Nurse Practitioner. I live alone. My home is a 3 BR 3BA split ranch in a nice established family neighborhood in Raleigh. My kids are grown and don't live near by, but we visit as frequently as possible. There are lakes, rivers and lots of greenways, public pools, museums, a lively downtown, thriving farmers market, great restaurants and live music in Raleigh. It's a beautiful place to live, lots of trees and rolling hills . Only accepting non smokers~
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel. I love the idea of using my resources, my home and my "self" instead of money to make travel happen! What a wonderful concept. I have an empty bedrooms, why not use it to establish myself as a couch server host and bank some positive feedback to use when I need a place to stay~! I am so excited to be able to meet people from all over the globe and share whatever I can of my self and my home. The idea of this cultural exchange is brilliant. Come stay with me~ let's learn what we can about each other and move on to the next experience. My Motto~ " Life is NOT a Spectator Sport"

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a lot of different music genres, depending on my mood. Favorite TV show "Hell on Wheels". I haven't had my tv on for months except for movies and news. I have been studying Kabbalah since I was 22, so I read a lot of books on mysticism and fiction now and then. I have Netflix and Apple Tv. I love Pandora and most recently been listening to "Laid Back Brunch". Love Led Zepplin, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Lindsey Sterling, Coldplay, BIrdie, Boyce Ave, Death Cab for Cutie and check out Hello-Walk off the Earth videos if you haven't seen them! Love live theater.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
medical missions to Haiti and Africa
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach:::: Let's get you out in a kayak!
I'd like to learn:::: a few guitar chords, some Spanish, hot Cuban Salsa, some way to kill the bamboo invading my yard, and how to end poverty, hunger, and war and promote world peace.
I can share::::: my thoughts, my home, my space, my friendship.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Almost any room in the house, you can cook and do some laundry, enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub and maybe a glass of wine. I have a few bikes you can use. The Neuse River is a short 11 miles from my house and we can kayak or walk the greenway or bike.
I can share me. I'd love to just sit and talk out on the deck in the morning or over a lingering brunch.
