About Me
I love to travel, obviously but I’m on the beginning of my journey. I was born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa and I love my beautiful country (I highly recommend visiting it). I graduated last year and decided that I really need to see the world. Up to date I have seen the Netherlands, France and Barcelona and have loved getting to know the culture and richness of each one of them.
I am a freelance information designer who loves music and all things creative and philosophical and psychological. While studying my Information Design degree I also completed my undergrad in Psychology. I hope to do my honors and masters in it one day just for fun.
I love people, animals and learning new things. I’m a deep thinker so you might get a lot of questions. Religion and spirituality are also an interest for me. I’d love to get to know people on a deeper and more meaningful level in this regard.
I’m a nature nerd and I love rock climbing. I’ve been climbing since the age of 15, and despite how much I suck at it, I still absolutely love it.
I think my biggest fear is to lose my hands or ability to create. That or if my drawings were to come to life.
I’m explorative and spontaneous and genuinely interested in people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To see the world from a local’s perspective. To learn. To grow. To actually be alive while living.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite current band is Wolf Alice. They’re a new age rock band but my musical taste varies from 50s Jazz to current date rap. I love music of all types. It makes me SO happy to discover more of it. I come from a musical background. My dad is a musician and has been teaching me to play the piano since the age of 4. I’ve brought my ukulele traveling with me if you’d like to teach you a few chords etc :) I’ve produced 2 songs that have made it onto a South African radio station called TUKS FM with my ex band Glyph. The songs both suck in my opinion but I like the fact that I get to tell my future kids one day that I had 2 songs on the radio. (Haha)
I love any Wes Anderson movie (I know... how cliché). But man, they are beautifully produced! Moonrise Kingdom and the Grand Budapest Hotel are my two favourites so far.
My favourite movie director used to be Baz Luhrmann (he did he “new” Romeo and Juliet as well as Moulin Rouge).
My all time go to movie however is Whiplash. It’s about a drummer who is INSANELY talented and just pushes through any obstacles that are thrown at him. Whenever I feel lazy or demotivated I watch that movie and it never fails to inspire me.
Winnie the Pooh is still my favourite animation and story.
In terms of books, I generally read non-fiction. Although I think that’s mostly because I only had time to read textbooks up until just recently. I just finished reading the anthology of Carl Jung. I’m trying to dapple into some fiction because I feel like I have a bit more time now. I’d love to know about any good books you can suggest!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve bungee jumped the highest bungee jump in the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
firstly, I’ll have to teach you some lekker kiff (nice and cool) South African slang and show you how hilarious our politicians are in our state of commons. (you’ll laugh, I promise)
Second of all. I’d really like to get to know you... so I’d really like to have conversations if you would like to have them. Thirdly, I’m a terrible cook but I want to learn!!! So I’ll definitely cook you something and make you give me an out of 10 rating. Fourthly, as previously mentioned I will show you a few chords on ukulele if you are interested.
