About Me

CURRENT MISSION

hmm...to find a mission, am I just going in circles?

ABOUT ME

We are an American/Bosnian family that has most recently lived in Indonesia, Guatemala, and we are now in Cairo, Egypt.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life believing in people because I can't live it in fear and cynicism. I take calculated risks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

You are welcome to visit us in Maadi, a suburb of Cairo, quiet, tree-lined streets, and kid-friendly, as are we.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my life i had many couchsurfing experiences, for example, in Peace Corps in Uzbeksitan - with families and fellow volunteers. We used to call the Uzbek hosting "Hostage Hospitality" - not that the Uzbeks aren't gracious and will share everything with you, but you really are encouraged to drink, and it's very hard to leave - they won't let you! I think of ourselves as very independent travelers - it's nice to learn about a place, and even if you show me, I am glad, but if you work, etc. there is no pressure from me - I'll find my way!

Interests

Skiing, books, travel (of course), live music, beaches, islands, cooking (average, not spectacular), baking, great conversations!!!
