Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

never couchsurfed but wish they had this concept 20+ years ago when i went around the world. sure would have been a much more interesting and valuable experience. so the next go around (in about 5 years)i'll be surfing with the best of you young'ins. for now maybe i'll give it a shot when i go to europe or somewhere just to see what it's like.

Interests

travel, meeting people from other countries and hearing about their cultures, developing an appreciation for those differences and enjoying the unity of mankind.

Music, Movies, and Books

love to read historical fiction and don't mind a girly flick every so often (especially the tear jerkers).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

been to papua new guinea twice visiting my father who was a missionary there. went up the sepik river in a dug out canoe where the priest, my father and I were the only foreigners in a world of small tribes. taught math in one of the small villages for an afternoon with sticks we gathered from the ground.

bungy jumped back in New Zealand, 1989 when doing this was unheard of in the USA. now, seems like everyone has done it but i still count it as one amazing feat given i'm terrified of heights.
