Overview
About Me
I'm a graduate student at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I'm doing an M.Sc. in laboratory animal welfare, which I came to via a background in neuroscience and a love of rats.
I've studied Tibetan Buddhism for almost 10 years, including 2 years of living in retreat centers and a month in a Tibetan monastery in India. I've also studied yoga (and particularly AcroYoga/partner yoga -- though not so much recently) for about as long.
I prefer to spend time with people one-on-one, but I'm not exactly introverted -- I really enjoy meeting and talking to new people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I encountered Couchsurfing for the first time when I stumbled across a community event in Lima, Peru in 2012. The people I met through CS became my family there and my co-adventurers through salsa dancing, massage, slack-lining, drum circles, teaching AcroYoga, and adventuring around Miraflores. It was an amazing time that feels like a bit of a dream now :)
What I hadn't done before is the actual staying on couches part of CS, which is what I'm back here to try! I'd like to make a few more meaningful connections while I travel to new places.
