Overview
About Me
I moved back to Malaysia in the summer of 2016 to begin teaching at an International School near to Kuala Lumpur.
I've spent 10 out of the last 13 years living and working around the world.
I love travelling, cycling, running, swimming, hiking, camping, and tons of other stuff too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I backpacked around Europe, couchsurfing along the way. I've hosted at my various homes in S. Korea, Canada, Malaysia, and Sweden. I have felt the 'burnout' factor at times, so I've slowed down a bit and am a bit choosier about whom I host. After living in Sweden for a year, I relocated back to Malaysia.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed couches throughout Europe while traveling and hosted while living in Korea, Malaysia, Canada and Sweden.
I would say that 99% of my CS experience has been great. Only on a couple occasions was I displeased with hosts or guests, but I think that this was due more to cultural differences and incompatibility blended together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Saint-Petersburg, Russia, only knowing how to say 'My name is Chris'
I spent 44 hours squeezed into a Ukrainian train next to an old grandma and grandpa, eating their stinky sausage and drinking beer and vodka. They really took care of me, cause we never made any significant stops and I had no local currency.
I've completed multiple Olympic distance triathlons, duathlons, 1/2 marathons, century rides, one marathon, and other races of various types. I'm now starting to get ready to race Ironman Malaysia, a race that is 3.8km swim, 180km bike, and 42km run.
I've taken the Trans-Siberian train, hitchhiked in Siberia and swam in Lake Baikal.
I helped my father to build a house, just the two of us, from the ground up.
