About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Recognize life's opportunities and explore this amazing, secret world to the fullest. Be aware and conscious and fully live the present moment. t

ABOUT ME

I love hammocks and waterfalls, rivers and redwoods, cooking and eating with good friends, camping, stargazing, star surfing (want to learn?), crusty hot bread, mothers are the best, music around a campfire, river guides are my people, reading a new book you've been waiting for, old books are even better. I love consciousness. Living life can be an art and I want to cultivate mastery. I am a whitewater kayaker and I surf a bit too. Traveling is sacred because it expands consciousness. Local Community, local food, local energy.

PHILOSOPHY

Every human has an individual truth that works for them, that they can follow with their heart. We create our own present reality. Everything else is ego, distraction, illusion. The purest truth that I have found is in paddling whitewater, and I will follow that thread of truth and bring it alive. I will weave it into my present reality as much as I can, and try not to get distracted.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is a huge transition time for me. I just graduated from college, and I feel an intensity of responsibility for my life that I didn't before. In short, I'm looking to ground myself and figure out who I've become while I wasn't looking (because academics are all-consuming) and who I want to become in 2015 and 2020 and beyond.

I want to find a way of being, a mode of existence that fills the heart, energizes the soul, activates the body, regenerates the land (and by extension the people that co-create it in partnership with the full ecological community of fungi, plants, microorganisms, animals, sunshine, rain, soil, and whichever mystery grounds them all) and fundamentally alters and enhances the way we/you/I relate to the rest of the universe and the other beings that inhabit them.

I think I can learn a lot giving my time and energy to other peoples' projects, in terms of my ecological medicine and in terms of my spiritual centering.
When you dive into the shipwreck of your soul, investigate your self and look for the questions that lead to your answers, it helps to be in a community of like-minded practitioners.

I want to find my ecological medicine and use it. I want to find a radical lifestyle that sits at the convergence of my passions in Permaculture and regenerative farming, food justice, food decommodification and ending hunger activism, community food system Organizing, ecological regeneration and Earth Repair, etc. I want to close in on what that convergence could be and might look like.

I want to participate in movement for social justice, join the activists in making a revolutionary change to our society, practice and experiment with differing kinds of horizontalism, be an organizer in my local community.

I want to hone my warriorship in every aspect of this life. I want to explore the ship-wreck of my soul for all its irreparable rot, its deep-sunken gold, and continue practicing groundedness, inner knowledge seeking, centering, I want to practice living simply, gratefully, consciously.
I want to keep exploring and playing in the wild rivers and mountains of our mother earth, and traveling and exploring the secret mysteries of existence in the Universe.
