About Me

I go by Penny (but you can try calling by my long name if you have no trouble pronouncing it correctly). :P
I'm a Bangkokian tween, a full-time fashion enthusiast; a part-time interior designer. I'm usually a lone-wolf traveler, and my style of traveling is more like to live the place rather than to check-in from one location to another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hold on to the same philosophy as Couchsurfing when it comes to traveling. I'm a true culturist and always eager to get myself exposed to different experiences because people are the huge part of genuinely getting to know the place. I’d like to meet locals and get as localized as possible while budgeting my travel costs at the same time. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I can listen to various genres of music; from pop to classic to jazz and latin music. However, I don't usually listen to the lyrics (I know how stupid!). So I prefer instrumental music, especially jazz. I also go to Italian live jazz music events every now and then. My all-time favorite is Night Lights - Gerry Mulligans.

I can also watch various kinds of movies, but there's always certain types I decide to watch in cinemas or at home. I've been learning Italian, so currently I'm really into Italian films. I love the subtle implement of the hidden messages and its cinematography. One of my favorites is Il Capitale Umano (2013). I used to watch quite a few American TV series, and my to-go binge watchings are Gossip Girl, Sex and the City, and The Carry Diaries.

I love non-fiction books mostly about art or psychology-related. My life-changing book is Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain because it unlocked my self-esteem fulfilling the doubts I had been having all my life back then.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve tried surfing at a beach in Australia despite the fact that I don’t know how to swim!

Teach, Learn, Share
