ABOUT ME
Eccentric, Whimsical and Adventurous. Love just chewing the fat and sharing ideas, but can party pretty damn hard too.
Started studying Arts/Law at Uni in 2006, but somehow got dragged into the murky world of student theatre along the way, and eventually ended up as the Tech Director for the three largest shows on campus. Hilarity and crazy times ensued.
Although tech directing was a unforgettable experience, the planning and organisational aspects kept me tied down in Australia, and for the past three years wanderlust has been growing inside of me; yearning to explore the world and absorb the wealth of history, culture, and sights and sounds out there.
I just came back from 3 months of backpacking around America and Europe, and I'm keen to get back into the Sydney scene!
PHILOSOPHY
I want to feel until my heart can take no more. And, I won't be disappointed.
I will not let myself become an accessory to mediocrity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfed my way around Europe at the beginning of 2010 and had an absolute blast. My hosts were all amazing, full of awe-inspiring stories, and gave me a chance to do lots of things I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. Scooter rides around Paris at night, exploring the sewers and tunnels underneath Vienna, crazy bike pub crawls around Madrid and abseiling in Edinburgh! I love the idea of bringing a traveler into your home and letting them weave their tale; vicariously living their experiences and inspiring you to see all that there is to offer in our amazing world.
Interests
Joking around with friends, seeing stand-up comedy and bands, cooking, eating good food that makes you want to melt into a puddle, having a few drinks, trying new, good beer, learning about everything, experiencing new things, meeting new people, embracing and defeating my fears, lighting and set design, bushwalking, cycling, climbing
I love it when I'm listening to music, and *that* song comes on. You know, *that* one, that is perfect for that moment in time, and takes you by surprise. It brightens my day immeasurably, fills me with fenetic energy, and I sing along with great gusto, and just smile and bop along for a whole hour or so afterwards.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was a wee lass I used to be an Army Cadet, and I decided to sign up to the ATA Camp for a lark. Context: the ATA award is the most prestigious award a cadet can get, and most people don't make it through the whole camp, and out of those who do, most fail one of the tests, so miss out on the award.
The camp included a variety of fun tests, like:
- Extreme rock climbing - with full bulky 15kg+ packs on; one poor cadet dropped her pack down 300m, and had to climb down and retreive it
- A forced march - where an Army truck drives behind you at 12-15km/hour, and you better keep marching/running if you don't want to get run over
- Advanced navigational exercises, where we literally ended up down shit creek
- Survival exercises: survive two days of hard slog with only one day's worth of rations.
- Sleep deprivation and surprise night-time evacuations.
and other such fun activities/experiences. Anyway, at the end of it all, I couldn't believe I had survived it all and was thankful enough for that. Then it turned out I also received the ATA award, despite being one of the younger and lower ranked people partipating. The feeling of elation was unbelievable (especially since we were totally buggered)
