ABOUT ME

Born in Vienna, living in Krakow, searching for new places where can breathe for a while. I'm Jakub and I want to do/see/try as much as it is possible. I love long talks with people who are mad to live, mad to talk and desirous of everything at the same time. Luckily, I know some of them but I want more and more. That's why I want to be couchsurfer. There's nothing better for me than meeting new, addictive people.

I studied journalism at Jagiellonian University in Cracow and it was a degree course connected with my passion. During studies I was working in a press office of one of the biggest polish football clubs - Wisła Kraków, now I work for a sport channel of national polish TV. In 2022 I made my biggest dream come true - I was a reporter at Winter Olympics Beijing 2022.

I use a lot of my free time for finding new music and enlarging my vinyls collection. It's an apple of my eye.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In 2014 I had my first trip with couchsurfing. I met fantastic people and that's why I wanted to continue my CS adventure. After 9 years, I am still there and I will be for many more years.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing in Sweden. One week in Malta. Two weeks in Switzerland, Liecthenstein and Austria. 5 days in Andorra. 5 days in San Marino. Travel to Ceuta and Gibraltar. And the biggest trip - almost 3 weeks in Italy. All of them with a great memories.

And, since 2018 hosting people in Kraków!

Music, music, music, all kind of sport, travelling , meeting new people, listening to beautiful voices, finding new surprising places, cooking new dishes, writing, watching movies, finding things which are invisible for others, having fun of every moment!

Music, Movies, and Books

I can't imagine my life without music. I try to listen still something new and new, and up to this day my favourites bands/musicians are: Pink Floyd, Nick Cave & Bad Seeds, Tom Waits, Simon & Garfunkel, Leonard Cohen, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Sigur Rós, Mick Harvey, Lhasa De Sela, Dire Straits, Joy Division and many many more.

The only one bad thing about good movies is that they always end too fast. My beloved movies are: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 12 Angry Man, The Graduate, As Good As It Gets, La Grande Bellezza, The Hunt, Control, Amelie, The Straight Story, Trainspotting, C.R.A.Z.Y., Rain Man and Hair. And Friends, of course!

Books: Jack Kerouac - "On the Road" (the Bible of every Couchsurfer!), Jaroslav Hasek's "The Good Soldier Svejk", Wiesław Myśliwski "A Treatise on Shelling Beans", "Ostatnie rozdanie", musicians biographies and Edgar Allen Poe's poetry.

I want to learn a lot of foreign languages, a history, culture and habits of every country. I want to try completely new cuisine. As a revenge, I can offer the same. And a lot of my beloved music. This is a good deal, isn't it?
