ABOUT ME
Hello All,
After having lived in the Middle East/Sweden on and off for a few years, later a vacations-like Erasmus semester in Barcelona, I'm now back in my city of residence, Malmö in Sweden. Here I work as a social worker at the Red Cross treatment center for persons afflicted by war and torture since August 2014 and plan to do so for at least a couple of years. I always have pending plans to become an international delegate for ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) though, but that day will come when it's time.
I love getting to know people (which I guess is a common thing among hitchhikers and couchsurfers) and that's what making Couch Surfing such a wonderful idea. I love traveling, but not that much the big backpacking trips. My best experiences are from the times when I've had the opportunity to stay for a long time at one place, getting to know the city, the people, the attitudes, the language, and most of all, getting myself a normal everyday life in this environment which often differs totally from the one I'm used to in my own country and culture. And I have to stress the importance of the experiences I've had from learning other languages living in the countries they're spoken, there's nothing like it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had many great experiences thanks to Couchsurfing. I now live by myself in a fairly big flat, that I can afford now that I'm working full time, and I want to offer that to travelers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in Damascus and learning Arabic, and coming back a second time for internship and work at the Psycho-social Support Program at UNHCR. It's a fascinating region, lovely culture, amazing blends of everything. In this city I've learned to know some of the most amazing people I've ever met, and it doesn't feel like a coincidence.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach others what I know, and I love to study what's interesting me and to learn from others. How you learn something I feel is much more important than what you learn. Knowledge is always useful.
Countries I’ve Lived In
Iran, Mexico, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic
