About Me
Hi there!
If you made it until here and you are wandering 'should I host her?/should I be hosted by her?' and that little voice in the back of your mind is telling you 'no... she doesn't have reviews...' well tell that little voice to be quiet and let you experience the ultimate mexican experience. Salsa/Bachata dancing (maybe hip-hop if we get along and you like it), tequila and mexican candies tasting and last but not least tons of stories about my beautiful mexican family, how we try to keep our culture alive (Have you seen Coco? No? Go watch it and you'll know what you are missing!, I'll wait)
I'm an exchange student from Mexico currently intering at EPFL in Switzerland. I have a College degree in Genomic Sciences, What is that?, only the coolest thing ever, basically we know how and why we shouldn't make Jurassic Park come true (I know, bummer). Jokes aside a genomic scientist is what you get when you mix a biology and a informatics degree and spice it up with some craziness.
I love reading, Netflix and chill, food and getting to know people. I think meeting a person is like reading a very good book and I'd love to read a whole library.
Wanna know more? Not sure I'm a real person?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to get to know different places and countries and get to really know them, not only for the turisty places but for their people. I've been lucky enough to have lived in a couple of countries and met people from many different countries. They have made me a better person by getting to know them. I didn't know mateship existed until I met Lexi from Australia, I didn't know in India sometimes is easier to comunicate in english between them because the language is so different across the country, I didn't know Belgium invented the french fries and the most amazing fried snacks you'll ever try.
I'm curious to the core and I'd love to make that list longer by adding you. Either by hosting me or being by guest, I'm sure we will have enough things to talk about!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
- I love Jonas Blue, that guy is going places! I bet that if you have a summer song from this year he is involved.
- Ed Sheeran is quite nice as well (sometimes to melancholic).
- Disney songs, not all of them and weirdly not the princess ones (except Mulan, come on).
- Mexican mariachi, if you haven't heard the good mariachi songs prepare yourself for a treat!
Movies & Series
- I love comedy or movies that just leave you thinking.
- The Big Bang Theory, because they made me feel cool for being a scientist.
- Game of Thrones up until the end (still making my peace with it).
- Dr. House, it's being years and it's still one of the shows I can re-watch over and over again.
- How I met your mother & Friends, love them both.
- Modern Family, Sofia Vergara and that accent get me everytime.
- GATTACA, if you want a distopy about how gene selection going wrong, this is your go to.
- Coco, I grew up watching Disney and loving the 'Dia de los Muertos' (Day of the Deads) tradition. When they made a film combining my two favorite things I lost it!
- Zootopia, it has to be one of the most underrated Disney movies ever. It's all about never giving up and followind your dreams even if they are hard af. Main song by Shakira, easter egg to 'Brother Bear', what is not to like?
Books
- The name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It's one of those books that has so many little stories within you feel like you are living 5 lifes.
- The book thief by Markus Zusak. Second world war from the German (non-nazi) perspective. It's moving in so many levels you should just stop reading this and at least watch the movie which is one of the best book adaptations I've ever seen.
- Currently reading The Handmaid's Tale and The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy. One is quite dark and the other I don't get it yet (make your bets!).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went with my boyfriend to 'Torres del Paine' National Park in the Chilean Patagonia and went up and down to the Towers in one day, no equipment, no physical preparation, we were quite chuby at the time but still made it to the top (Profile Picture)!
What I Can Share with Hosts
- Teach you my poor dancing skills (salsa, bachata, cumbia, hip-hop).
- Share recipes for amazing mexican dishes (not only tacos).
- Mexican candies and treats.
