Overview
About Me
I'm a passionate teacher who gives everything for her students. During the school, I devote my time to the classroom, but once vacation time comes, I dedicate time to myself. One way I do this is by traveling. I consider myself an open minded individual. My mom has prepared me for a myriad of situations. I've experienced sleeping on a memory foam bed at home, as well as a "petate" (a woven bedroll made from palm leaves) in Michoacan, MX. I've experienced a gourmet meal prepared in an all-inclusive resort in Manzanillo, MX, but I've also had the privilege of enjoying a home-cooked meal in the jungle of Yantaló, Peru during a mission trip. I've had the opportunity to ride inside a limo during my friend's quinceañera, but I've also had to squeeze in between two other passengers on a "combi" in Mexico. I thank my mom for having encouraged me to learn from these experiences. You never know what the future may bring, but you need to be prepared to take on any situation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I recently heard about Couchsurfing from a friend who has been traveling the world. He shared the great experiences and friends he has made along the way. I am looking to hear others' stories and share my own. We all have something to learn from one another, but technology is decreasing our chances to meet people in person whether you're on the bus on your way to work or waiting in a long line at the DMV to renew your license. Everywhere I look when I'm out and about, everyone is getting virtually closer to those who are far away from them, but they are missing out on chances to get closer to those who are right next to them. I hope through Couchsurfing, I can increase my social circle, not virtually, but authentically.
