CURRENT MISSION

Understand how beauty the world is, and get back the time I lost working too hard in the last 15 years!

ABOUT ME
After 15 years spent working harder and harder, and getting anyway my good career, I realised I was wasting my time and for my 40th birthday I decided I would have been changed, or at least working on it. So i did, quitted my job in February and since March I travelled: Cuba, Peru and then Europe. I really wanted to change my point of view, and I'm "on the job" right now. Meeting new people is crucial for that, and CS so far helped me so much in enjoying my life and cross extraordinary people's life!!

At the beginning i didn't filled up this field, after so many experience, here i'm. I don't like to speak about me, i prefer my host to judge by themselves.
Anyway, i'm for sure generous, i'm completely shy, but when in a situation, try always my best to make it a positive one!
I consider my guest as "sacred", and if they are polite and respectful, they always get the best of me.
When i host someone, i want to spend the most of my free time with him, to share what we can and want! So if you just look for a place to sleep without interaction with me... my couch is just not for you!

PHILOSOPHY

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do" (Mark Twain): i try to adopt this motto, but it's an hard job!

I like also the final motto of a great movie: "happiness only real when shared" (Into the wild) .

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Loving my city, I host people and try to help them having a better stay, suggesting where to go and what to see! At the same time, I love travelling, so i always try to get in touch with other members around the countries I visit, and will bring my "italianity" with me. I talk a lot of CS to everyone (altough the most consider me a fool......!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I travelled last summer mostly as a surfers, and that make your holidays really cheap!! Hey, just kidding!! :-) Seriously, I had the unique opportunity to know new people, mostly very interesting. With them i visited some places that i never would have, as a turist. For sure, visit a place as a tourist (in hotel and with other turist) is quite different, that living with a local, and being introduced to the beauties every city has from person that live there, and do it not as a job!! visited 26 states (12.5%)Create your own visited map of The World

Intereses

Travel, of course, is the first interest and love of my life! About that, I'm very enthusiastic and try harder to travel more and don't miss a chance to meet strangers to turn them into friends and positive experience!!!
I also like the most sports and everything helps me feel better with my body and soul (run, swim, aquagym, yoga, pilates, trekking and even more). I appreciate silence, but i also love to listen and talk.
I like to meet people (altough I'm shy, so I'm not that immediate in knowing people, and prefer to listen!) and get the better from each person (ANYONE has a positive side... i'm sure!), giving back my best ;)
I love reading books and watching movies (i prefer big american kolossal and oriental movies, my favourite are korean drama!). I'm interested in science (I never miss to visit a natural science museum, while i travel!) and technician thing.

BOOKS: The little prince (de Saint Exupery), Il cavallo rosso (Corti), Life of Pi (Martel), all the books of Bill Bryson (LOL!).

Algo increíble que he hecho

Leave my (rich) job for change my life in a better one!!! Travelled 3 months in a South America, alone, with no deeper plan than "ok, let's see what happen today"
Learned English and Spanish by myself (actually thanks to music lyrics, movies and old videogame the first, to my travel in Peru and wonderful people the latter!).
Jumped from an airplane (with a parachute, of course!!).

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Teach: I lived in Turin from 30 years. If you visit, I'll share my knowledge, and you'll experience (maybe?) the italian way of life. I love cooking and can make you delicious meal (if you are enough brave to taste them!). But please, don't look at expiry date in my fridge!!! ;)
At 40 I left a boring, unhappy working life and turned it into a happy, dynamic ones: I will be happy to tell you how and why, if you're interested!
Learn: anything I still have to learn. I'm trying to be more connected to all the people, so am for sure interested in other cultures. Right now I would love to learn to carve marble: can you teach me?
