About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get inspired and create some art!

ABOUT ME

I am originally from New York but have been living in Berlin, Germany for 3.5 years now. I previously studied fashion design but am looking to switch over to visual communications.

I am creative, contemplative, and a bit confusing sometimes. I love to reference American tv shows, dance and sing unexpectedly, people watch, laugh at incredibly not funny things (in a non offensive manner), and to read ingredients on the back of food packages. And I don't like rain but I love the smell and sound of it.

I'm also a food blogger so you can check me out over there if you'd like. ;)

I write about life in Germany and post my own recipes.

PHILOSOPHY

"Treat others how you wish to be treated."
The golden rule and a good one. I live by it everyday.

I also try to live life to its fullest. It's hard at times to feel accomplished, especially when you're in a rut, but if you can do one inspiring thing a day, where you know it was just for the sheer fun of it, then can anything really ever be bad?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My Couchsurfing experiences have always been positive. I've met a couple of amazing people, that I don't know where else I would've met. It's also introduced me to many experiences . . . I learned how to ride a bike at age 21 thanks to a Couchsurfer!

Interests

I love to cook and spend my time in grocery stores, picking through produce and stocking my pantry with spices. I blog. I love to take pictures. Fashion is an obsession. Art is life. And I enjoy television and television scripts.
My greatest interest though may be the minds of others. I'd love for people to share their mind with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Always a tricky topic, but here are a few titles of each that come to mind:

Movies - Bright Star, Clueless, Mean Girls, The Artist, Midnight in Paris, Roman Holiday, The Usual Suspects, Alien (the entire franchise), Terminator (exclusively 1+2), My Man Godfrey, Le Père Noël est une ordure, Grand Budapest Hotel, almost all Ghibli Studio movies . . .

Music - Jukebox the Ghost, Chat Monchy, Shiina Ringo, Company of Thieves, Marina and the Diamonds, Freelance Whales, Explosions in the Sky, Icona Pop, the Kooks, Passion Pit, Walk the Moon, Balmorrhea . . .

Books - Shadow of the Wind, Pygmalion, King Lear, Streetcar Named Desire, The Great Gatsby, 1Q84, Harry Potter series, How to Cook Everything (cookbook) . . .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New Yorkers are nice (trust me on this one), but will they accompany you all the way to the airport when you're lost, and on their day off? No, probably not. But one man by the name of Oliver did in Duesseldorf, Germany. I will never forget his kindness.

I was at a party in Brooklyn, followed by another party, followed by diner breakfast, followed by 2 hours of sleep, followed by a 9 hour work day. How the hell did I do that?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to properly eat with chopsticks in the Japanese way. I can cook a mean stack of American pancakes. I love playing board games but if I lose I'm internally crushed for a good 5 minutes after (you may have to teach me how to be a better loser).
I would love if you also taught me how to peel fruit and vegetable skins with a knife because if I attempt it, it'll take 5 years and you'll lose half the fruit. Or we can just go for a good tea or coffee somewhere and chat about the new things we find each passing day.

What I Can Share with Hosts
