About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to complete as much schooling as i can, to break out and travel, to enrich and be enriched, and write about everything!

ABOUT ME

I am twenty-five years old. My father is a big influence, even though we have a poor relationship. He taught me to love travel at am earlier age and once i was old enough, relayed tales of hitch-hiking through the East Coast and Europe, visiting head shops in Morocco, running across Paris in time to view the Louvre before it closed for the night, etc. I think my mother fancied his energy and we have enjoyed our family vacations together. Almost entirely without fail, during every family vacation, we have toured a cavern or cave system.

I am currently pursuing a degree in English, with aspirations to teach creative writing at the college level. All subjects fascinate me and i imagine i'll be in school for a long time.

Outside of school, i use everyday as another learning experience. Education is everywhere if you're open to it.

I am pleased to say that i have been a semi-vegan since December 2005. (I say 'semi' because although i do not drink milk, i do eat organic yogurt, cheeses, and cage-free, vegetarian eggs.) I prefer to eat organic foods, cook my own meals, and count calories (when i'm not in a rush).

When i am not working or in class, i like to browse the internet, read, exercise, attend art shows and concerts, visit friends, and write.

I'm a goth who wears black V-neck tees instead of fussing with lacing up into boots and corsets. My closet is mostly skinny jeans, band t-shirts, and cardigans. I don't wear much makeup, but i relish my eyeliner.

Music is so incredibly important to me. Visiting shows and concerts is my equivalent to attending church. The energy of so many people coming together to support an act or group of artists is a drug. Without music, i would be directionless.

I have three lovely kitty cat children; Filburt, Gojira, and Trainwreck. :)

My sense of humor is very sardonic. I have no shame. I try to keep good spirits, but i am susceptible to mood swings. When i'm well, i am cheery and giggly, focused, and thoughtful. I like to debate and listen, and i can admit when i'm wrong.

PHILOSOPHY

Experience is my religion.

I live my passions.

I believe that all energy cycles, so to do well to take care of myself and the people within reach, so to ward off negative energy. But, some suffering is necessary, even if you do good.

Above all, honesty and reason.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When i was 14, my parents and younger brother took a trip to South Dakota to go caving. During a tour of Bethlehem Cave, our tour guide jumped over a ledge off the path and helped us down. We crossed through an unlit passage into a part of the cave that wasn't meant to be utilized by the public. Our guide waded into a pond, cupped his hand and drank from the water. He explained that because caverns are so dark, bacteria would not thrive. He bid us to do the same and we --with the exception of my mother-- dipped our lips into the pond and drank. To this day, i have never tasted such fresh, pure water. It was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Never underestimate the value of a fish oil supplement and good, food based vitamin and chelated mineral supplements. These are especially important if your diet is limited by travel or fasting.

Stay hydrated!

It just takes thirty minutes of exercise to make a difference.

Talk to the person standing next to you --it will change and shape your world.

Drip coffee has more caffeine than espresso. Go for the light roast if you want to twitch!

Live without regrets --say what you think and feel when you think and feel it. Nothing is helped by holding back.

Use a blend of natural oils on fresh tattoos --not lotion. This will keep you very moisturized and help you to peel faster.
