Overview
About Me
I recently got married and moved to an apartment unsuitable to host any surfers. :( But if I have the time, I'd love to meet with travellers or give local advice.
CURRENT MISSION
To grow together with my husband. <3
ABOUT ME
I'm a teacher of Mathematics and Hungarian (language and literature) in middle school. It's an exiting experience. :)
I'm a sanguine type, connection with people is essential for me. I usually got my hands full (organizing our choir, playing RPG etc.). :) Well, the 'happy smiley' can describe my general mood.
PHILOSOPHY
Tolerance and a bit of happiness is fundamental in life. I respect people who want to make the World a better place with their deeds.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Showing the beauties of Budapest if I have time.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed less than I hosted. When I visited Italy, I admired the generosity and the kindness of the Italians. The second time Itravelled to Germany, listened to a fantastic opera and had some unforgettable chats. Years later I had the opportunity to discover Ireland and found some wonderful, open-hearted people there.
In 2018 we went to a CS trip with my best friend to motivate her more to get involved with this fantastic movement.
I love hosting because the world is coming to my home. :D I enjoyed the music they brought, the food we made together, the sightseeing through the eye of a non-inhabitant... I am enthusiasted by these first hand experiences of other culture.
Interests
My family were always playing some kind of music. I think this is the shortest way between two points.
I sing in several choirs, and I play the violoncello (again, since the lack of practicing for several years). Now I'm learning to play the ukulele and the bass guitar.
My other love is literature. Now I'm making a challenge for my kids: they can recommend a book for every book they read from my list. Sometimes they can even dig up great books. And since we have recently moved together with my husband, now we can read books together. :D
BTW, I collect special beer caps. ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Richard Bradford's So far from Heaven, the whole bibliography of Robert Merle, plays of G.B. Show. Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre is a quotable classic for me, but Hungarians as well (Herczeg Ferenc, Karinthy Frigyes, Balassi Balint).
If I have to choose from non-classical pieces, than I read sci-fi or fantasy (Asimov, Weis and Hickman, Robert E. Howard).
Music: For the last 4 years I am so deeply involved in worship music like Hillsong. But I do like Queen, the Beatles, Pink Martini and a lot more. I even interested in classical music from Beethoven to Honegger. Recently I am being educated about classic rock and metal by my better half.
Movies: I'm fond of the works of Wes Anderson (Moonrise Kingdom, Grand Budapest Hotel) and Joss Whedon (Firefly, Avergers). My favorite actress is Emma Stone, so I basically watch all the stuff she participates in. :D Not to forget: although I not consider myself a feminist, I am deeply devoted to the idea of Bechdel-test (and appreciate the films that passes it).
Newly dicovered favorite is Adventure Time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed the Sliabh Liag at the Atlantic coast of Ireland. The wind was so strong we thought it will blow us away! Beautiful scenery and adrenalin rush.
Once I jumped off from first floor. Into a swimming pool, of course. :D
I ate a deep fried Mars bar in Edinburgh.
I paid a visit to a hospital on my wedding day (in full bride's dress of course) because the best man fainted at the ceremony. As they say: "in good and bad times..."
Teach, Learn, Share
Recent: my experience about the city
I can share my ability to cook Hungarian food, to sing Hungarian songs, and my eagerness about other cultures. ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to cook for my hosts. I am quite good with traditional Hungarian and European dishes, and my speciality is the dessert, from strudel via rice koch to poppy seed cake.
I know a lot of stories about my country, about the culture, history and literature. I play the ukulele, and know some traditional dances as well.
