About Me

Hello fellow surfers and hosts, I'm Papuna from Georgia. My first experience with Couchsurfing was back in 2017 when I was a volunteer in Romania followed by being an exchange student in Germany. Couchsurfing connected me with a lot of nice people which I'm glad for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Basically, much like being an exchange student outside of your country or being a volunteer, I also like the idea of Couchsurfing, it's not only about shelter, and a free place to sleep for a night or two, but also getting to know other people, their thoughts, cultures, etc, which I'm deeply interested in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Get ready, cause I have to say a lot about them.

I'll be liar if I say that I listen to every kind of music, for me it's bullshit.

Every period of music has some special part in my heart. Starting from Classical (Like Chopin) ending to the modern era (Tame Impala)
In General I'm a big fan of Rock, especially Progressive Rock, like Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, King Crimson, Yes..
even though I like modern music, I still appreciate 60s-70s era: The Beatles, CCR, Cream, Black Sabbath and so on! also I hugely love late 70s/early 80s music, such as Joy Division, Bauhaus, New Order, The Smiths. and 90s Britpop - Oasis.

Movies - the best Genre for me is Drama, like lifetime stories and so on. Three of my favorite movie directors are Wes Anderson, Jim Jarmusch and Krzysztof Kieslowski.
The movies I can advise you to watch: Medianeras, In Bruges, Pink Floyd - The Wall, Short Term 12.
I also like stand ups, such as Louis C.K., George Carlin, etc.

TV Shows: The Office, Black Mirror, Fargo, Horace and Pete, Brickleberry.

Unfortunately I don't read as much as I possibly want to, but still, my favorite books are: 1984, The bastard of Istanbul, Pulp, Murder on the Orient Express, Heart of a Dog.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited 3 countries in one day
Covered 50km by the worst bike ever while not being physically fit at all.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach some Georgian basic words, also, even though I'm not that good at cooking, still will teach how to cook some Georgian national dishes. I can share and talk about the culture of my country, which, believe me, is very rich, old and unique! can share my experience and some interesting stories.
