I passed last year the 66 Highway ! So I can consider myself as an old man, father of four children (now living in different parts of France). Even living alone into the mountains, and in a remote area of the Southern French Alps, I have a lot of friends in my village, in my valley ...and all around the world ! As I'm now retired, I try to travel a lot (mostly by foot or by bicycle). With two passions : books and photography. Well : just an humble world citizen, with some great interest in Ecology.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm living from many years in a small mountain hut (1400m in altitude), in the Mercantour National Park (100km North of Nice). My village, ESTENC, is very small (less than 10 persons living here all the year long), lost at the upper end of the valley, just at the foot of the La Cayolle Pass. I like a lot all my mountain valley and it's allways a pleasure to share my area with foreigners. To host people at home is for me the way to meet with them (even living alone, I'm not at all an hermit!) and to give back what I received during my own travels. If you like hiking or cycling, you are welcomed. But don't hope for a luxury hotel ! My home is just a little mountain hut in a wonderful location.

Teach, Learn, Share

Because of my jobs, I know very well all the paths to walk and all the tours to bike across the Southern Alps and on the French Riviera and I can help you to draw your own aventure.
If coming by train, or by bus (from Nice), or if you are cycling, I can catch you in the village of GUILLAUMES and drive you up to SAUZE, along the finest road from all the Southern Alps ! !

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have only one small room with two single beds, (+ toilets and hot shower)
I like to share with you cooking, eating and why not drinking !
You can use the washing machine if you need.
