Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'v been interested in couchsurfing since 2010! I used it for the first time to learn about meet-ups in Iran when I visited in 2014. I ended up going to an incredible poetry meetup in a gorgeous park in Tehran. I couchsurfed in a home for the first time in 2015 when I visited Toronto and met some wonderful people. I'm visiting Spain in June so I'm back to see what kind of meet-ups are going down there.

Interests

Huge science fiction and speculative fiction lover. Favorite authors include Samuel R Delaney, Octavia Butler, and Ursula K Leguin. I love learning and discussing science - although I'm not an expert. I'm fascinated by quantum physics, micro-biology, pre-historic earth science, and all thing outer space.

I'm also a huge food lover. I LOVE to cook. I'm a loose vegan - meaning I primarily eat vegan at home but I indulge in meat and dairy on special occasions. I truly love food from all over the world and I love cooking fusion dishes. I'm Iranian so I bring a lot of my Iranian sensibilities, spices, and flavor profiles to my dishes. I was raised in LA, however, around a lot of Mexican and Salvadorean food so flavors from those cuisines end up in my food as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love house music, afro-beat, reggaeton, and truly all drum heavy dance music from around the world. I loveeee dancing. I also love weird pop music - a classic fave of mine is the Coctau Twins.
