About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Diving head first into Arabic Language and Culture
ABOUT ME
I was born in Texas and grew up in Connecticut, USA. I graduated from Rice University in 2010 with a degree in Religious Studies, with a concentration in Islam. I arrived in Morocco in 2010 on a scholarship to teach English in a Moroccan university, which was a crazy experience. Now, I'm a full time Arabic student trying to discover as much of this mysterious language and culture as I can. Being in Morocco has taught the value of patience and to expect the unexpected. Things rarely work here as expected.
In September I will travel to Qatar to study Arabic in Doha.
I am a writer, writing non-fiction and mainly about Morocco. I have wide interests ranging from religion to jazz music. What I appreciate most in the world is a good conversation.
PHILOSOPHY
Little by little, the camel goes into the couscous
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to show people around my new home, the Fes medina. I want to meet travelers and learn about their impressions of Morocco and talk to them about this place and how it works and how it can be completely crazy.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have a friend who is a big CouchSurfer and through him I have met many CouchSurfers who have all been really interesting people.
